Much like his wife to be...CM Punk fresh off pretending to bathe in the ashes of Paul Bearer takes a couple months off and returns a hero.
1.He was Kane's dad. Kane is justified in having taken him out (look at me writing their stories)
2. I remember a promo by Punk when he left. But if I remember right it wasn't a turn.
3. I know he should have never been a heel in the first place.

Randy was getting fairly decent cheers leading up to the point that Triple H turned on him...
There was a point not long ago where Kane was a heel, then one week in a backstage segment proclaimed his love for the fans, seemingly turning face, then the next week he was a heel again. Though you can chalk that up to Kanefusion.

John Morrison got attacked by the Miz, remained a heel for another match, and then was just magically a face.

Randy Orton's current face turn basically happened because he was a whiny entitled child who was jealous of Seth Rollins' success. Uhh, he got the shit kicked out of him and kicked out of his own group and was cost months of his career in kayfabe. That's pretty justified to me.

Did Eddie do anything to turn face shortly after turning heel on Tajiri? It seemed like he simply started to wrestle other heels and became face by default. I think Eddie just turned face again due to fan reaction. I think fans actually enjoyed his comedy heel tactics and didn't really want to boo him. I may be getting my timeline mixed up but perhaps his feud with John Cena and the Parking Lot Brawl on SmackDown for the US title also was part of the face turn too? That was the start of his face turn, the Smackdown after Summerslam 03 I think he was cutting a promo to a great reaction and Cena came out and assaulted him I think.

Kane somehow being the face in his feud with Edge and Lita.
What did The Rock ever do to warrant a face turn when he was kicked out of the Nation? He was being cheered on regardless of him being a heel, but I don't recall any specific face actions.

I know Kane turns on a dime, and technically he was betrayed by Lita but Kane as a stand-in for Matt Hardy in the real life Lita/Matt/Edge love triangle when in storyline, he raped Lita and forced her to have his child but gets cheered as an avenging babyface was... odd.

Jericho in 2012? He came back from suspension and just started doing his babyface Y2J act again, only a couple months after being a complete dick to Punk and his family.

My memory's fuzzy, but this was the "Everybody Hates Seth" period where he just pissed everyone off, face and heel alike. Cena, Lesnar, and Ambrose were all targeting Seth and by proxy the Authority because Seth was being a moron. Also Orton's always been the face in the "group kicks me out" angles. Legacy, Evolution, The Authority. It's fun watching him go apeshit crazy on people who wronged him. Doesn't make a lot of sense when you realize Orton abused Cody and Ted, but damn it the crowd chose.

Steve Austin after the end of the Alliance. He just kinda was the next day despite trying to kill the company the night before. I like to imagine kayfabe-wise what it was like in the locker room the night after Survivor Series when Austin shows up pretending like nothing happened.

He did have a mini-feud with Undertaker & Kane in September-October of '98, and he defended D-Lo & Mark Henry from them. Also, prior to Survivor Series '98, he was in a feud with McMahon and Co.

Carlito and Chris Masters' short-lived tag team ended when Carlito turned on Masters, yet, next week Carlito was the face and Masters the heel.

The Tyson Kidd/Dudebusters face turns. All three's face turns Literally boiled down to "one week the announcers are saying bad things about them so they're EEEEEEEEEVIL, and the next week the announcers are saying good things about them so they're great guys." You can't really GET more unjustified than that one. Dishonorable mention goes to the Usos' and Zack Ryder face turns: The Usos' face turn started with the same "one week the announcers say they're evil, the next week the announcers say they're good guys" was partially tempered with the "Well, they do the Haka, so I GUESS they're nice guys now". Meanwhile, on paper Ryder's face turn was the same as these, but at least he did have the "yeah, the fans are supposed to GET that Ryder turned himself babyface with Z! True Long Island Story outside the WWE, so we don't have to turn him face in kayfabe" aspect. You can add Fandango's recent face turn to this list. See also 'the Alicia Fox affect' and 'the Primo principle'.

This was all while he was already a face. I'm wondering what his actual turn consisted of.

Seth was getting a bit too big for his britches, and Orton, being Orton, didn't like it very much.

Uhh, he got the shit kicked out of him and kicked out of his own group and was cost months of his career in kayfabe. That's pretty justified to me. It makes justified for revenge but doesn't make him a good guy. It's like if you're being held at gun point by two guys, then one suddenly shoots the other in the leg. The shot guy is not suddenly someone you consider a good guy because he got betrayed by his friend. Unjustified face turn? HOW DARE YOU BECOME A GOOD PERSON! Explain yourself! I think you're missing the point. We're discussing face turns where the turning heel didn't do anything to become a good person.
