Uhh, he got the shit kicked out of him and kicked out of his own group and was cost months of his career in kayfabe. That's pretty justified to me. It makes justified for revenge but doesn't make him a good guy. It's like if you're being held at gun point by two guys, then one suddenly shoots the other in the leg. The shot guy is not suddenly someone you consider a good guy because he got betrayed by his friend. Unjustified face turn? HOW DARE YOU BECOME A GOOD PERSON! Explain yourself! I think you're missing the point. We're discussing face turns where the turning heel didn't do anything to become a good person. No, I understood the point, but it sounds odd to phrase it as "unjustified." I'm sure this thread is about face turns that weren't properly set-up or didn't make sense in the story. Using the term 'unjustified' to mean that makes the topic confusing.

Jimmy Hart
His face turn in 1993 made no sense. A guy who had Earthquake kill Hulk Hogan is suddenly allied with him? And all that because he cared oh so much about Brutus Beefcake?
Give me a break.

Daniel Bryan's face turn in 2012. He was a cowardly, emotionally abusive, egomaniacal asshole with a gigantic chip on his shoulder, and yet because the crowds enjoyed chanting "Yes!," he became a fan-favorite.
Obviously it worked out for the best, but from a story standpoint it made no sense.

Whenever Vince McMahon turns face. In kayfabe, the guy is an insane egomaniac who once manipulated his family and offered up his daughter as the unwilling bride of the Satan-worshiping cultist he employs just to screw with a redneck he didn't get along with, which was about 18 months before he started drugging his wife and making out with a hot supermodel in front of her... before degrading HER and making her bark like a dog in front of an audience of thousands of people.
Yeah, sorry, I don't care if the audience likes the name "WWF" better. Shane had every right to put you out of business with his company.

Orton abuses Cody and Teddy ..... but he's the face. There were chances to turn either or both face as fans wanted them to kick Orton's ass on multiple occasions(right after he RKOed Dusty & fans chanted for Cody being the most obvious), but for whatever reason, WWE was reluctant to turn either face(hell, they edited those "Cody" chants into "Cena" chants).

See I don't really agree with the arguments about the Austin turn in November 2001. Of course it didn't make sense that he went from suddenly being a cowardly heel back to a kickass rebel babyface, but then you open the question of why did his character become a coward in the first place earlier that year. Like you get that he felt paranoid that he couldn't beat Rock at WrestleMania without Vince's help, but it doesn't explain why he suddenly become a sniveling coward who couldn't win a single match on his own instead of the badass he also was just as a heel.
Angle f***ed him over at Survivor Series, so he set his sights on killing him the night after, and the crowd cheered just as they had still wanted to do all year.

Did Eddie do anything to turn face shortly after turning heel on Tajiri? It seemed like he simply started to wrestle other heels and became face by default. They just made a mistake turning the wrong guy; Tajiri turned heel right around this same time once he failed to get over.

Orton vs Punk at Wrestlemania 27 when this all this happened because Punk wanted revenge on Orton for costing him the WHC, but Punk is the heel.

Did Shawn Michaels have a proper face turn after his feud with Hulk Hogan in 2005?

The Bella twins were evil bitches until they turned face because Brie ran out to check on a hurt Daniel Bryan, Brie went full hippy (which is a heel trait in NXT) and that somehow made Nikki a face-in-law. No repenting, no moral arguments with Bryan, I guess being a face is sexually transmitted (thanks AJ that's turned out to be a useful line).
Now purely from the episodes of Raw I've watched recently they no longer seem to be married, I assume the divorce made the Bellas heels again.
Maybe it all made more sense if you watched Total Divas.

Stone Cold inexplicably turning face a night after trying to get rid of the WWF in 2001. This pretty much killed Angle too. He was a white hot face leading up to his nonsenical Alliance turn. Then he helped Rock win....and he was STILL a heel.

The difference is, Beefcake was coming back from something that literally could have killed him, and up to that point, most thought he didn't belong in the ring. Jimmy begged his guys not to bother with him, and they went even further, trying to perminantly disfigure the guy. It was too much for even *him* to take

Then he helped Rock win....and he was STILL a heel. Are we sure the audience didn't just turn heel on the WWF instead? WWF saviors Vince McMahon and Kurt Angle became the top heels in the company, Alliance leader Steve Austin became the top face, and WCW legend Ric Flair became the babyface authority character. Maybe the Alliance actually won in the long run.

Did Shawn Michaels have a proper face turn after his feud with Hulk Hogan in 2005? I mean they shook hands after the match but he kinda did a worked shoot the night after in that he was acting that the whole thing never happened

Slightly off topic but from reading the posts, did CM Punk end up heel a lot of times where it made no sense? People talk about his feud with the Rock, his feud with Orton. Is it just that he comes off as pretty smarmy so a lot of people naturally treat him like a heel?

I want to say Chris Masters. Might have also been Randy Orton.
