This was the show cancelled because girls liked it? I do remember seeing that it had a strong periphery demographic but the key reason that I've seen thrown around is that the toys sold horribly.

This was the show cancelled because girls liked it? No, that's a myth pushed around by nitwits.

So it was a reverse My Little Pony situation?

Yep. They slapped a ludicrously steep price on the action figures, so they didn't sell. Cartoon Network nitwits then decided that those sales meant no one liked the show. Maybe, just maybe, don't charge $20 for a 4 inch figure.

Great show, such a waste that it was cancelled. Honestly hope the person that made that call got canned.

They're not responsible for any price gouging the toys might have had. Fact is the toys just didn't sell, they're not nitwits for canceling something that wasn't making them a profit.

And let us not forget this was the second great Greg Weisaen lead superhero show to get cancelled on the 2nd season cliffhanger ...

And let us not forget this was the second great Greg Weisaen lead superhero show to get cancelled on the 2nd season cliffhanger ... At least Young Justice still has the better chance at coming back. Sony closed the door on Spectacular Spider-Man permanently when they gave up the TV rights, which really sucks considering they went on to do Amazing Spider Man 2 which ended up bombing enough they had to negotiate with Marvel and gave them the movie rights anyway.

There's no such things as curses. Weisman is just a victim of bad timing. Gargoyles actually had a great second season, and could have ended just fine on that Hunter's Moon trilogy. But Greg was young at the time, and Power Rangers came along which took a lot of ratings away from them. This led to Greg signing a contract with Disney/ABC that resulted in the maligned third season.
He did some work on the Max Steel series, which lasted three seasons but he wasn't the showrunner. I can't remember if this show had a full ending or not.
He came aboard W.I.T.C.H.'s second season, but the show didn't have enough ratings so it got canned.
Spectacular Spider-Man came right when Marvel bought Disney, resulting in Sony signing their T.V. rights over to Sony to keep the movie rights. Which was stupid of them in retrospect, considering how the Amazing Spider Man's sequel fell apart. Either way if the show could have been Kids WB a decade sooner I think it would have done fine.
Finally with DC's Young Justice, it came out at a time when the relationship between Warner Bros. and Cartoon Network really wasn't good. A good reason why Looney Tunes went an entire decade without airing until the Looney Tunes show. Their parent company Time Warner, is run by a moronic leech who doesn't believe in corporate synergy i.e. branches of a company working together. Why would he when he got his position from the AOL Time Warner merger that later dissolved? Anyway, the bad blood that his every-man-for-himself mentality inspired I believe is what led to CN not promoting the show as much when it first came on. There were also probably some payment disputes over WB and CN's share of the revenue and merchandise sales.

So if you've been looking around the Web about YJ, you might have heard rumors about Netflix checking the views for it, and possibly looking into doing a season of the show with WB. Probably just typical zealous fan dreams, right? Well, you'd actually be wrong because someone actually contacted their Customer Service and the lady on the other line CONFIRMED IT. imgur.com/z8WkYdQ

I really want this to happen. But it ain't going to happen. Netflix have a pretty good deal making content for Marvel/Disney. I doubt they will allow Netflix to develop a DC/Time Warner property.

It's starting to feel like the only thing needed to fall in place is a green light from Netflix. Aqualad's voice actor noted he wanted it back as well.
