Because they were basically like, "I don't need your pussy bitch, I'm on my own dick."
I hate when crowds have to put themselves over. Do all the goofy chants you want, boo who you want, have a blast. But don't outright chant "WE ARE AWESOME!" Obnoxious as hell.

Eh, It came at the main event, with 6 people who have done some form of the same f***ing match for the past 3 months. They were good for the rest of the night, I don't mind if they want to put themselves over for a couple of seconds during the end of the show.
I mean they chanted for the Divas, not Punk, that's telling for guys like Show and Kane.

Yeah but the local men were in the ring at the time I believe so the crowd was not the worst thing at that moment.

I have no problem whatsoever with, "We are awesome!" chants because when it's come up, they've been right. And WWE indulges in and encourages it - hell, Cena led a round of the chant post-show a year or two ago.
And hey, if WWE isn't entertaining the crowd, let them entertain themselves. What's it hurting you?

At the end of the day, the "We Are Awesome" chants really don't seem like ego so much as "I'm having a great time and it's partly down to all these people I can share my passion with and have fun with, you go, guys."

What's it hurting you? I get what you mean but it just rubs me the wrong way personally. It's on the same level as a rapper laughing at their own joke during a song. Even if the joke was funny, wow, how much of a tool do you have to be do that?

I'll reiterate what I said in the Raw thread. There's a fine line between being hot and just being downright disrespectful. I don't care what form of scripted entertainment you are watching in a live setting, crowds should never act like how they did in the main event. Yes you paid your money to go to the show, that doesn't give you the right to act like a jackass on the grounds of "We don't approve of these guys." Booing is fine. Being silent is fine. But you're not the show, they are. They actually work their asses off to stay in shape and destroy their bodies to put on a show for you guys, yet you seem to think that it's perfectly normal to chant about yourselves while all of this is going on in the ring.
Imagine doing that at a Broadway play, or a comedy show, or a concert, or literally anything else. You think that it'd come across as normal and "just having fun?" Of course not. Especially when the match makes sense to happen. Sure it's not the most unique matchup, maybe not the most interesting one, but it's not as if WWE booked R-Truth vs. Fandango to close the show in a Jim Ross On A Pole match. Not only that, it's the main event. If you hate it so much, you can just LEAVE at that point. You can beat the traffic, you can get home a little earlier.
It just keeps pissing me off that this is still happening and people keep trying to justify it on the "But we're having fun!" excuse. You can have fun without trying to become the show and making it essentially unwatchable for the people at home. And up until the last hour, they were for the most part doing that too. But that last hour just gets on my nerves that this keeps happening and is probably going to continue to happen for years to come now that WWE keeps glorifying all of it by acknowledging it all of the time and people keep putting these crowds on pedestals.

Yeah I hate it when fans who pay money to go to WWE shows to have fun end up having fun.

Those people paid out of the ass to be there. If they want to chant "Roman is a Sounding Goose" they can. And they will.

The crowd was drug dealing just to get by, and WWE was stacking money until it got sky high.

So if I paid money to go see a high school play, does that give me the right to do what the crowd did during the main event? Because if money in the only factor, then this behavior I guess should be allowed anywhere as long as you've paid. And yes I know they're two different environments, but they're still two sets of people trying to put on a show for you, they at least deserve respect.

I thought they were chanting "WE ARE POSSUMS!". And the Bay Area had been taken over by a race of possum people.
