The gimmick still sucks - face or heel. It's a lame, offensive gimmick that serves no purpose and it still hasn't explained why these three suddenly decided, out-of-nowhere, to become a faction. Name a reason and that reason can't be 'the WWE thinks all black guys get along'. Why am I meant to believe if Kofi isn't clapping, he's snapping? He's been a career babyface that smiles when he loses and is always happy. There's been no character moments that make me believe he's a bottled up psycho that will snap your neck if he's not clapping. I hate this gimmick. Okay, I'll bite. They're teaming because they were going f***ing nowhere before teaming. Big E and Kofi were trading wins and losses with guys of minimal clout, while Xavier was just losing. Even when they got thrown together initially, Xavier acknowledged they were in a slump. If it was just an issue of race, why be in conflict with PTP? Why not reach out to Mark Henry? Someone should tell them they missed a few if this was some attempt at the Nation. And as a matter of fact, we have seen Kofi snap before, when he was feuding with Orton. They just pulled the plug on it for a while when Kofi dropped the ball. Guess they are giving it another shot. Dislike the gimmick if you like, but none of this is entirely unprecedented or out of nowhere.

Why are Tyson and Cesaro together? Because they're white? WWE is....racisty I know. Just thought I'd play devil's advocate. For the record, I don't agree with the other guy either, but this is absolutely not the same thing. Well like someone said, two foreign guys. Could be a link all the same. That said, I pretty much agree the New Day are together because all 3 guys are black. I just don't like when that is brought up usually. But in this case, spot on.

They just pulled the plug on it for a while when Kofi dropped the ball. Guess they are giving it another shot. Dislike the gimmick if you like, but none of this is entirely unprecedented or out of nowhere. Heath Slater is also doing nothing, but he wasn't put into this group. Management only put these guys together for one reason, and you can guarantee that reason has nothing to do with those guys "going nowhere". It has everything to do with the colour of their skin. Period. They were put together for that reason and that reason only and the gimmick has been absolutely dreadful since the day it began. Why was Big E suddenly a preacher? why did Kofi all of a sudden enjoy quire music, and why was Xavier ... I don't even know what Xavier is. I don't think it was ever meant to be a New Nation. Just because people of colour are put together it doesn't mean they're going to be a Nation - that was a one time stable. These guys were put together out of the blue to be a cheesy face act for the children, that even the children ended up hating because of how bad it was. And you're right about Kofi. I forgot the stuff with Orton where he showed an edge for the first time because it was literally two months of his career and he's had a really long career at this point. After he lost to Orton he went right back to "boom, boom, boom"ing for the children like the feud never happened. It was really sad start-and-stop booking that really ruined any chance they had at making the guy a top star in their company. The issue with race is with the company. Not the talent. They think it's okay to just put these guys together and make them into a positive act and have the announcers put over how positive they are in an age where there's a lot of racial tension in the world. They live in their own bubble and they ignore any negativity in the outside world.

I guess mathematically speaking it is more likekly to be two white guys teaming than three black guys I dunno, I wouldn't be shocked if they are a team because Kidd is Canadian and Cesaro is Swiss and to Vince that means they are both European. You mean like Puerto Ricans can be Spanish Toreadores, because all the same right?

I'll post this here, from the Raw thread, just because it was my favorite moment of their promo: Knew those outfits looked familiar...

Either they did plan it this way, or they've decided to take them in this new direction that's better for them. Either way is fine.
But I hope they maintain them as a group that does heel things thinking they're being faces.

I'm totally going to use that gif when I'm trolling the hell out of Ant-Man fans, expressing how happy I am at the moderate success of a comic book character nobody cares about!~

Amazing, ain't it? All it's taken for one of the most dead-in-the-water acts in the company to get some momentum and some intrigue going was ONE segment.
And we wonder why people always suggest "Turn heel" as an option... Look at the renewed interest in psycho Irish punk Sheamus and the increasingly unnerving New Day. Proof is in the doll/pudding.

I really liked it. The little changes to their characters was well done. I'm excited to see them turn on someone completely now.

They actually cut a promo like this a few weeks after their debut on the way to the ring, almost the exact same content but worded differently which suggests this has always been the plan with New Day.
Same with the "new day sucks" chant that has happened one or two times before last week and when it happened Kofi encouraged it by hitting the mat in time to it.

They were straight up heels tonight. Kofi kicked Kalisto when the ref was turned. It's a good thing that there were cameras to pick it up because the announcers sure didn't mention it.
