I'm watching Summerslam 90 and it's a pretty good PPV with some decent matches and a crowd seemingly well into it
However I remember watching this for the first time aged about eleven years old, and Sapphire going missing after receiving a lot of gifts of a high monetary value was hilarious. We were to believe, she had gone missing, and there were no clues as to where or who with. Oh, apart from the fact it was obviously The Million Dollar Man and WWF/E had done nothing in a subtle manner.
Luckily a lot of the matches make this part of the show kind of forgettable, but can FAN think of any other obvious reveals?

Hogan as the third man after Heenan ruined it. Oh bullshit. In hindsight maybe, but nothing was ruined at the time.

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

Hogan as the third man after Heenan ruined it. Oh bullshit. In hindsight maybe, but nothing was ruined at the time. This. If anything Heenan saying that was not only in character but also made the moment even more of a shock because you're slightly taken out of the moment (as a Hulkamaniac) to go "Oh f*** you Heenan, let it go" and then bam, he was right. Mind completely blown. Anyone who was watching that broadcast live and says they thought Heenan saying that was a spoiler is lying.

Kane leaving KOTR '98 with the title. "I'm going to light myself on fire if I don't win" is pretty much the definition of booking your main event into a corner.

That and wasn't it a First Blood match? And Kane had, what, just his left hand bare? I forget if he had the two sleeves or just the one at the time, but he had an absurd advantage in having a leather mask to protect his face. That said, in regards to this thread, sometimes predictable is a good thing, if it's logical. While short lived, the booking of Backlash in 2000 was pretty obviously leading to Rock winning the title off of Triple H, but that was what fans wanted, and there was still the question of if Triple H could Houdini his way out of another title match as he had been doing.

Any feud HHH is in = HHH wins. Except against Daniel Bryan, Kane, Brock Lesnar, Undertaker, John Cena, Batista, and others I'm sure. But hey, it's 2015 and HHHate is still cool!

Hell that's why I went to Extreme Rules last year to see Daniel Bryan win his first title defense cause there was no way in hell Kane was winning that match. Sure the fact they teased it happening the next month was stupid but for that night it was fun.

Normally he had 1 sleeve, but just for that match he had 2. To be honest, it's one of the smartest moves in wrestling, 1st blood match, cover yourself up, don't come out in just trunks.

I think it's possible they wanted people to think the extra sleeve meant burning himself would be plausible, to keep the ending in doubt.

Kurt Angle winning the title at Unforgiven in 2001.
In his hometown, less than two weeks after 9/11.
As much as Vince likes to swerve us, he never would have risked the backlash of Angle losing that night.
