Definitely the 4 Way Cage match in DOR2, pad breaker right there WCW/nWo Revenge's AI's reverse fest going from Blue Spirit to blazing Red in no time I was going to mention how ineffective finishers were in Revenge. Spend the whole match beating the shit out of Lodi with Goldberg. Spear! Jackhammer time! 1-KICKOUT!

I dusted off the first Smackdown vs. Raw one afternoon a year or so ago. Arbitrarily made it my mission to beat Brutus Beefcake using John Cena by FU'ing him either off the Cell or through it. I'd get close to having it set up. Then Beefcake would reverse, I'd banana-peel off the Cell, and he'd climb down and pin me. The more it happened, the angrier I got. I finally did it after about three hours, by which point I was bordering on insanity. I HAD to beat him using that move.

Tag matches in wrestling games are a pain in the ass in general, but the ones in Wrestlemania X8 are the very definition of hell.

Any ladder match. They never stayed down long enough for you to get a good grip of the belt/briefcase.

Thanks for reminding me of another quirk I've always hated about the Smackdown games: no invisible walls over ledges. On one hand, it led to some cool spots. On the other hand, it led to some really stupid moments such as Kane setting up for the chokeslam and walking around a bit during his canned animation... only to slip off the edge of the cell and right onto his head.

The Spirit was really powerful in than game, anything higher than a blue spirit & they'd kick out While we're on that game, damn submissions took ages to get, in all AKI games for that matter. Lock the Ankle Lock on Grand Master Sexay & it would take about 20 attempts to get him to tap

It was at least really satisfying when you did get them, though, especially something like the Lion Tamer, where Jericho would shake his head no and hold the move a little past the tapping, instead of letting go right away. Nice touch.

Playing WWF Wrestlemania Challenge and being trapped in the corner while Hogan continually body slams and elbow drops me. Terrible.

Assuming this won't be the only reference to the Day of Reckoning set of games on the Gamecube, but the AI in the first one could be a gip. There'd be storyline matches that you're not supposed to win, yet you're not aware of that going in. Having a flawless AI decking you from all angles is an arse to contend with, really. The Flair/Big Show (depending on brand) match you have when you're signed is stomach-turning. Someone here said it was beatable, but not committing the faculties to that when it's not a must-win. Makes it all the more delicious when you do get to deck them later on, though. Still a quality game that holds up, mind. Yea,the Flair/Show match is beatable but it just shows the same cutscene of them kicking your ass after the match anyway. I was pretty pissed when I finally beat Flair and the game just no sold it.

I had two moments like this, both from Smackdown 2 for the PS1. Firstly, playing season mode when I won the world title as, I believe, Mankind. Kurt Angle jumped me backstage, stole the title and was suddenly the official world champion.
Secondly, I played through a year of career mode with my create a wrestler. I won every match all year and came out on top in every feud, suddenly it was the day of Wrestlemania and I got to see the card...
I was booked against Crash Holly in the opening match with nothing on the line and no stipulations. Got so incredibly mad.

My sole quest in SD! 2 at the moment is to make Steve Blackman the hardcore champion. I've been #1 contender for about 2 months now (in game time, not real time) and it won't give me a f***ing title match. On the plus side, I main evented against Stevie Richards and Vince in a triple threat at Judgment Day, with Taker and Shawn being bumped down to the semi-main.

WWE 2K14 in Universe Mode when the game freezes up while I'm editing rivalries and I have to reboot the entire XBox 360.
EVERY. F****ING. TIME.
Serves me right for buying it used. I think a brand new copy goes for $20 now, so maybe it's time to replace the disk.

I remember one time that I was playing NES Pro Wrestling as a kid and I was kicking all sorts of ass until I was just about to face the Great Puma when a storm rolls in and kills my electricity.

Even Fire Pro R has its moments.
Like facing Jumbo Tsuruta on high difficulty.
You are doing good against him. Wearing him down with strikes and running attacks. You KNOW he's like Top 5 in the game statistically and that he's better than guys like Lou Thesz that are better in stats, because his moveset is more high impact, so you know to keep the grappling simple and fast. But eventually, you do need to throw him around a little to hurt him, otherwise you're not winning the match.
So you go for a medium grapple, like a f***ing bulldog or a DDT. SUPLEX CITY!!!! Jumbo reversed that shit into a BACKDROP. You don't like Jumbo's backdrops. Especially when he picks you back up, and while you are dazed, goes behind you and backdrops you again. And maybe, he does it again. Or maybe the second one murdered you and he has already won. Maybe he got you on the reversal, even! Or maybe, you managed to reverse the second one, and did a go behind. Well, Jumbo can reverse your reversal and go behind YOU, and then, you guessed it, backdrop.
His backdrop can one-hit critical you, and if it doesn't, then it does immense damage and leaves you wide open for you to fall victim to it again.
Many people say VADER is the cheap opponent in Fire Pro. He isn't. Jumbo is.
He's fun to play as though. Since Brock isn't in R by default, he's as close as you get to that kind of dominance.
