Permanent? Not even close. We'd all be complaining that Brock isn't booked strong because HHH beat him. I'm pretty sure he's the strongest he's ever been, despite losing a match in 2013.

Brock's mystique, if it were ever to be shattered, would have been in losing the WWE title to Eddie Guerrero and, before that, submitting on two occasions to someone whose name escapes me at the moment but who later on became WHC. Those defeats did more to damage Lesnar's brand at the time than anything Trips could try now, while they rocketed two of WWE's smallest wrestlers into the main event scene. His departure from WWE in 2004 could have been more professional, but Brock apparently does what he wants, when he wants anyway.
Now that Brock's got bonafide and acknowledged MMA credentials (and what credentials they are!) there's no putting that genie back into the bottle. Short of sic'ing the entire WWE locker room on Lesnar as part of a no-DQ match (a move that would irreparably damage the roster's reputation), there's no credible way for Trips to emerge victorious without everyong complaining about the Levesques once again being unable to let themselves be humbled for the long-term good of the company.

CLEAN Losses off the top of my head: Angle via tapout. HHH at Mania Cena at Extreme Rules Seth at Mania And Goldberg at Mania, as well. I knew I was forgetting someone.

And Goldberg at Mania, as well. I knew I was forgetting someone. Easy to forget that behind all the chaos with the crowd and both guys leaving, that there was a match that went to a clean finish.

Will losing one match in a series of three two years ago ruin the Brock Lesnar gimmick?

Absolutely not. He broke HHH and HHH win over him was hardly "easy".
Kayfabe he's still better than HHH.

Didn't Brock win the feud though? HHH only won at Mania, Brock won twice, right?

I'm glad you mentioned the part about pro-wrestling dust, because that's what I always thought the loss to Cena was about. Not to mention his last UFC fight was some time before that. Kayfabe wise, it made sense Cena was able to barely fend him off. A Couple of years later when Brock had wrestled a series of matches, and was clearly 100%, he murdered Cena.

Lets assume for a second he did...I don't think he did even a little bit, but lets assume one could answer your question with a "Yes" or "A Little Bit" or even "Maybe"...the second he totally f***ing obliterated Cena at Summerslam it would have been null and void.
The fact that he didn't? I mean...ending the Undertakers streak was one thing...but totally murdering the same guy who consistently always got up, who NEVER got (no Seth Rollins Pun intended) totally curb stomped into oblivion in front of what could, mildly, be called a shocked crowd and doing it in a way that looked totally easy? Like me (all 6'4', damn near 300) wrestling my 60 pound, 7 year old son???
Basically; Brock is a relentless killing machine...the Form of the Destructor has been chosen...and we should all PRAY he never sets his sights on any of us.

No, but like a lot of HHH victories, it's one of those things that didn't need to happen.

Everything that should have been said in this thread to refute it has been said.

After ending the streak and squashing Cena, not in a million years, but before that it f***ed him up pretty good.
Lesnar looked like more and more of a goof as the feud went on while HHH was presented as a destroyer of worlds. Lesnar did win the feud, but he won it in a match that probably wasn't even supposed to happen after Heyman had to run in the cage himself because Brock was getting the piss beat out of him. Coming out of that feud, Lesnar looked infinitely worse than he did going in to it.

Random example, wrestling fans are cheering for Orton, even wanting him to win the Money in the Bank ladder match the other night. When just two years ago he won the match and cashed in on Daniel Bryan, and just a year ago at WrestleMania he was the most despised heel. He was an annoying cheating heel champ for so long, but now fans love him. Brock's been a monster for a year, and Heyman did his best to explain that before that wasn't Brock at 100%, he was at 50%. Plus, I don't think most of the audience really needs that explanation, the narrative of wrestling is pretty fluid and continuity is often a bit light. I agree that Brock's booking before was wasting his potential, but I don't think it has hurt him currently. They managed to turn it around to full effect I think. Good post. He is now recovered from diverticulitus and/or abosrbed Taker's powers after beating the streak That be cool to have some sorta "Power" from the streak , I mean as long as they don't make it corny

Right after that "meh" feud with HHH? It was maybe hurt a little, but by time he ended the Streal & decimated the face of the company, the stench from that feud was washed away.
