Good Lord. 1st & 2nd Inning - LHP Dallas Keuchel, Astros 3rd Inning - RHP Félix Hernández, Mariners 4th Inning - LHP Chris Sale, White Sox 5th Inning - RHP Sonny Gray, Athletics 6th Inning - LHP David Price, Tigers 7th Inning - RHP Darren O'Day, Orioles 8th Inning - LHP Glen Perkins, Twins 9th Inning - LHP Zach Britton, Orioles I could be the AL Manager with that roster.

And Toronto kept Mark Buehrle too long in the game, which causes Toronto to blow the game in the bottom of the 8th

Brock Holt making the American League All-Star team is one of the most absurd, preposterous, ridiculous, and awesome things ever. Remember, this guy was a throw-in in the Joel Hanrahan deal. Hanrahan lasted a month before going on the DL and hasn't pitched since. Ned Yost needs to have a little fun and have the Brockstar play a different position each inning.

I'm not counting the acquisition of Brock Holt as a feather in the cap for Ben Cherington, especially when you consider three All-Stars (Jose Iglesias, Mark Melancon, and Yoenis Cespedes) were all traded away during Cherington's tenure, and outside of Holt, the centerpiece returns in all three deals have been either unimpressive (Jake Peavy), struggling mightily (Rick Porcello), or an unmitigated failure (Joel Hanrahan).

I'm not praising Cherington either. I just found it funny how that deal turned out.

Jon Niese nearly threw a shutout last night...
I can't believe I typed that and it's true.

How are we not talking about Lester finally getting his first career hit?

Johnny Cueto is giving himself a great case to be the last pick in the NL All Star team as he is beating Max Scherzer and the Nationals with 11 strikeouts.
EDIT: And that is the game as Cueto pitches a complete shutout and the Reds win 5-0, also only allowing 2 hits.

If the Mariners somehow qualify for the postseason, hope for a series against the Tigers. This has been a great and entertaining matchup.

Pretty happy about Jose Altuve being an AL starter. Last year, he was the obligatory Astros rep.

The Indians' social media page just made a post that stated that the Cleveland Indians are the first team in major league history to have 4 pitchers with 100+ strike outs before the All Star game. Too bad their offense is the drizzling dumps.

With Alex Gordon out due to injury, a more deserving Brett Gardner is taking his spot on the AL roster.

Andy Martino reporting Mets rookie Steven Matz out several weeks with a lat issue. Unreal.
