I can't stand it when single people hate on marriage. If it's not for you, then don't do it. Being mad that other people want to is ridiculous though. In fact, my wife and I's 10th anniversary is in a couple weeks, and it has been the best time of my life. Also, as for the main topic at hand: America: F**k Yeah! Happy anniversary. Lol, I realize now that it looks like I was fishing for that, but that wasn't my intention. Thank you though.

I think this is a bit of smoke and mirrors really. Marriage is the biggest sham going. The government are happy to erode civil liberties and get away with it by throwing people a bone like this every once in a while. I'm happy for those who can now do what they wanted to don't get me wrong but I am rather cynical of marriage in general. All it essentially is is declaring to the government you plan to spend your life with someone and therefore would like some tax breaks for informing the government of your plans. Also I don't think it's right to force churches to carry out gay marriage. If they want to be bigots its their prerogative, I mean if a person doesn't want to carry out that ceremony why would you want to even go to them for a wedding in the first place when there are plenty of accepting people willing to carry it out? I can't stand it when single people hate on marriage. If it's not for you, then don't do it. Being mad that other people want to is ridiculous though. In fact, my wife and I's 10th anniversary is in a couple weeks, and it has been the best time of my life. Also, as for the main topic at hand: America: F**k Yeah! To be fair, I think the advantages married people get over single people in regards to taxes and things make for a pretty good reason to be against the idea as a whole. Though that's less of a problem with the concept of marriage and more the legal implementation of it.

Just a friendly reminder. The Supreme Court of the United States voted in favor of legalizing same-sex marriage across the country. Normally, we don't allow this subject to be discussed in the FAN Forums. However, we understand the significance of this topic and we are aware that there are a lot of members who would like to discuss it. So for today and today only, we will allow discussion. However, much like during major elections, mods will be heavily monitoring the thread and will be implementing restrictions. Those include: 1: Limiting all discussion to this thread 2: Do not attack each other 3: Remain civil and express your opinions calmly 4: Do not drift the conversation toward other political topics. As stated, we will be monitoring this thread closely and reserve the right to shut it down when and if necessary

Yeh,i personally don't believe i marriage the way most people do and i think in a LOONNG time from now it will not be a regular thing(if humans are alive by then).
But at the moment it is something really dear to people,it is a right anyway. And if people want to marry to symbolize their love, they should be allowed.
Edit: Does this count as other political topics or is it a reminder to be peaceful?

Josh Robinson: Minnesota Vikings Player Compares Gay Marriage Ruling to Pedophilia and Incest
I'll never stop being astounded by how people can fill themselves with so much needless hate

Same-sex marriage became legal in Florida in January, so the impact here isn't Earth-shattering. But it means the world to people in the two states where I lived before I came back home -- North Dakota and Louisiana. They've each historically been very anti-gay. But I knew plenty of homosexuals in both places, and this has a profound impact on their lives. It's great for them to finally have the same choices that heterosexuals do. I'm happy for them more than anything.

Does Josh Robinson actually know what being gay means? What a weird f***ing tweet, man. Also, I like how he's implying that fathers shouldn't love their children. Nice phrasing, buddy.

Also I don't think it's right to force churches to carry out gay marriage. If they want to be bigots its their prerogative, I mean if a person doesn't want to carry out that ceremony why would you want to even go to them for a wedding in the first place when there are plenty of accepting people willing to carry it out? Where did that come from? Forcing churches was never a part of this.

Fair enough point. My facebook feed and twitter is full of a lot of idiocy and hate about this and I just don't understand how one can live in this century in this country and not support everyone having equal rights. Also I tend to swing left on voting but I get the complaints about dems and agree with some of it, But man it seems like every political presence that is whining about this is a republican.

Where did that come from? Forcing churches was never a part of this. It comes from dissenters who want to paint themselves as being discriminated against because they think they'll be thrown in jail for having religious objections, even though pretty much every entity on all sides agrees that churches and ministers don't have to officiate gay marriages or allow them to be officiated in their church (They also don't have to officiate interracial marriages, marriages between previous divorcees, etc. and have without any legal recourse).

Over 24 hours ago. In over an entire day, unless I've missed it, the Vikings have said NOTHING. They've not even addressed it.

Don't know if this is relevant (probably not), but the best player on his team missed the entire season last year for beating his young children. Since he's so concerned about what fathers do their young children.

Lol, okay. So how can directly comparing homosexual relationships to some dude molesting his kid have some alternative, non-douchebag meaning? I'd laugh in that guy's face and tell him to shove his meaningless apology right up his rear end.
