I hope this doesn't stop the Muscle Buster because that is Joe's entire identity really, without that he has his Clutch Sleeper but in all honesty it takes away a huge spot and spectacle from his offense
Again, Joe has done this move millions of times, hell, Cody Rhodes did it for a bit too... something just went terribly wrong here...

That version has never injured anyone so why not use that one instead? That's the second time someone has gotten seriously injured during that move so maybe it's not a bad idea to scrap it, at least temporarily. Hell, they banned the curb stomp just because it had the potential to cause injury.

Has he ever injured anyone else with the move? I can't think of anyone, it's not like AJ and his finisher where it felt like it was a monthly PPV occurrence that he injured someone with his finisher. Only person I can think of Joe's muscle buster injuring is Kikutaro, who claims he still has neck problems to this day from it. AJ's situation is interesting in that of the decade or so he's been using that move, he's only injured 4 or 5 people with it, it just so happened three of those happened back-to-back months. Nobody's been hurt by it since. AJ wrestled the same company of people mostly for 12 years. Pretty much everyone was used to how to take it. Curt Hawkins and Yoshi Tatsu have never taken it before, Roderick Strong probably hadn't taken it in 10 years.

It also didn't help that AJ wasn't allowing his opponents time to adjust for impact during his post TNA run. Instead of the 3 seconds pause before the slam, he was going straight into the plunge once hooking their arms & legs. Wouldn't been so bad if AJ didn't make the whole breaking necks thing part of his act. Besides the Hart family, no one else is blaming Joe for injuring Kidd. But it won't stop folks for calling the move banned. Rey Mysterio got the same backlash for the 619 after Perro Jr's death.

I haven't heard much backlash for Joe since this happened.. But, we haven't seen or heard much from him since it happened either. He hasn't even been active on twitter. So, I think something is going on with him.
Edit: Nevermind, Joe has been pretty active on Twitter, I just haven't noticed him lately I guess.

That was extremely close to being a total catastrophe. It'll make one hell of a Total Divas episode though where Nattie tries to cheer Tyson up with a dominatrix themed hospital party with cats.

"Look, honey, I appreciate the sentiment, and particularly the effort, but can I just watch my New Japan DVDs instead?"

Joe almost kills a guy: It's a freak accident
Sheamus gives Daniel Bryan, a guy with a boatload of injuries, a concussion: Fire him.....into the sun.

Hell, they banned the curb stomp just because it had the potential to cause injury. They banned the curb stomp because of the ongoing former WWE wrestlers suing WWE for concussions. WWE didn't want them to bring out the point they still use the curbstomp finisher to the jury.

Hopefully, Tyson Kidd doesn't come back to wrestling. I think that would be just too much for his neck this day and age.

I wonder how much of the Muscle Buster deal with Kidd and the rash of Styles Clash injuries last year is a result of Joe and Styles working with pretty much the same small circle of guys for about ten years each, and said guys knowing how to take these two moves pretty much by heart, and could probably do it in their sleep. Then you take said guys and remove said small circle of guys and they start working with people who are not as used to taking these moves, even though these guys, such as Roderick Strong and Tyson Kidd are Grade A workers in their own right, and that is the problem. Just lack of familiarity which works itself out over time.

That's a pretty horrifying x-ray, I have to say. Tyson is lucky to be here, if his tweet is anything near statistically accurate.
And I like Samoa Joe, but if he has inadvertently caused the early retirement of Tyson Kidd, just as Tyson was finally starting to build real momentum and popularity in the WWE then... well that's really a sad thing to have happened. Why on earth did they think it was a good idea to have him go up against Joe, when Tyson isn't even on NXT any more? Dammit.
Oh, and also, I do not like that move, and I don't care how closely it's associated with Joe. It's got to go.

Joe almost kills a guy: It's a freak accident Sheamus gives Daniel Bryan, a guy with a boatload of injuries, a concussion: Fire him.....into the sun. But it was a freak accident. Besides, I think most people agree that the "Damn You Sheamus" crowd was overreacting.
