Did we really need a Hozier song as an overlay? I have never ever disliked a single episode. I have never had one issue with anyone doing anything on the show. I have disliked killing kids on air. But I have never given up on it. I have had zero reason to bitch about any episode ever. People will have their own opinions but I've never seen a bad episode yet I agree wholeheartedly, a few episodes have been average but none have been bad imo.

I swear I'm not being a shit when I ask, what exactly was so bad that you considered the show ruined for you in S3? Anyone else who has hated things as well, please do explain. I have been more entertained by some arcs vs others or some episodes over others but I have never considered anything I watched on this show horrible or even mildly bad. I hated Lorie, bam gone. I wanted them off the farm, they left. Out of the prison, gone. Not to get eaten by canibals, Carol=Rambo. Season 1 was great. I also liked Season 2, despite the fact that the first episode of that season gave us that horrible highway scene with the dead corpses that even Glenn Mazzara AND Kirkman couldn't explain. Mazzara said that all the people in those cars 'most likely died from head trauma." But from what? A 1,000-car pile up? Wouldn't they have turned into zombies then? ONce that scene aired, it was apparent that there would be more shoddy writing. And boy, was there ever. Season 2 had critics but I liked it. However, with regards to finding the prison: why didn't Rick know about it beforehand if he were a local sheriff? Don't sheriffs have an understanding of all the local prisons? Season 3 is where the show lost me. All the episodes seemed to run together without anything notable standing out. The pacing of the show was awful (I liked the pacing of season 2, with the character development). Also, while I initially liked them bringing back Merle, the fact that they brought him back only as an excuse to shoehorn controversial/racist dialogue into his scenes was another sign of bad writing. I liked that in Season 1, they established him as a racist, but it would have worked much better in Season 3 if his racism were more subtle (perhaps with nonverbal cues indicating his disgust with people different from him). I wish this show had better writing and acting (most of the actors are atrocious; among the main characters, the only 'good' actors IMO were the people who played Hershel, Dale, and Shane. Everyone else is either just okay (Rick, Carol (although she's improved), Glen) or just awful (Carl, Andrea).

Yeah Season 2 is the only one that you could really hate. I felt it just dragged on too long

Season 2 was the only season I didn't truly like. It had moments I liked, but dear god it was so dull and boring at times to me.

Everyone else is either just okay (Rick, Carol (although she's improved), Glen) or just awful (Carl, Andrea). I don't want to do the back and forth FAN tennis about my point vs yours etc. but on Rick know where all the prison's or county jails are in North Georgia isn't a stretch. Unknown how far they wondered from where they are from in Eastern Kentucky. They went to Atlanta and wondered a good bit with the help of topo maps that don't necessarily include such landmarks as jails or prisons. Just sayin. The corpses in the cars, yeah I never stopped to consider it but you have a point. Merle? I don't know if it was just to shoehorn in racist fodder for dialogue. The invention of Merle and Daryl and Daryl's incredible popularity meant the dynamic was there. They had left the door open when they returned to the roof top to find no Merle. So that was a pay off and you really couldn't keep him on the show with his racist diatribes while he was somewhat sympathetic. Though they still gave him a heroes death so I don't suppose it bothered the show runners that badly. I won't argue that the actor who played Dale held it down. He was good. I just couldn't stand him and his end was a self fulfilling prophecy. He tried to intimate that the world could go back to what it was if they held onto their humanity. Shane and eventually Rick's realization that the genie was out of the bottle and your u have to survive, meant that Dale had to go. His ideals just didn't belong in the world anymore.

While Dale WAS annoying after awhile with his viewpoints, the actor who portrayed him did a great acting job. That's what I was conveying.
As for being from Kentucky: while that's the case in the comics, in the show it's heavily implied that they were from the area near the prison. Remember the scene where Carl returned to the old neighborhood he grew up in?

Some episodes seem to be 30 minutes of filler and padding with 15 minutes of awesome slotted in there. Good show, but the reason season 1 was Si awesome is that every minute seemed to mean something whereas in the later series some episodes could have the fluff cut and be merged into one.

I thought it was just a place where he was being a kid for the first time since he was little. I may be confusing scenes or episodes. I thought I said The actor who played Dale held it down very well? It might have been late I may not have been clear headed. Sorry if I confused.

Awesome. Hamm is a fantastic choice for Negan.
It's going to be weird to see Negan not swearing though.
It might sound kinda stupid to the non comicbook fans but swearing really is a big trademark of Negan. He often drops 4 or 5 f-bombs a sentence.
Either way I'm super excited for him to finally show up

I am also curious to see if the said person who dies involving Negan will actually BE the one. Or are we gonna get swerved.

A huge potential spoiler, supposedly from a new casting notice for episode 616: {Spoiler}{Spoiler}
Sounds like someone's head could end up meeting "Lucille" on the season finale. I just wonder how they'll handle all of Negan's F-bombs from the comic.

Awesome to see Jesus is going to join the cast. Love that dude. The Negan thing is very interesting, like others have said I just can't imagine him without swearing, but it may also be a good thing to make the tv iteration its own character.
Just don't change him too much. I really don't want another Governor situation.

I am just basing this on the Breaking Bad rumor I heard about lax language restrictions on AMC. I watched the series on netflix so I never saw it on AMC, but didn't they get one free f-bomb pass per episode in the early seasons on AMC?

If they do Negan, they simply cannot do the profanity. My mind immediately tells me the interwebz will be rife with complaints about that
