Ok bit silly, bit drastic but let's say you could magically make Triple H, Undertaker, Sting, Henry, Kane, Big Show and any other old geezers retire. Would you? As in once you've made your mind up, they never wrestle again, they never take another high profile Wrestlemania match.
They still get jobs in WWE and HOF inductions but they're done.
Would you do it?
Or would you worry that Wrestlemania, for example, wouldn't sell as well?
I would, in a heartbeat. Relying on these guys to sell WM is short sighted in my eyes as soon they physically won't be able to go anymore. Plus I hate Big Show. I'm sick of all of them but I hate Big Show. Have I ever told you that I hate Big Show?

Depends on the names. Show, Henry and Kane I definitely would. Trips, Taker or Sting I don't think needs to fully go away as bad as those three

I dunno. On the one hand, they've got the moves and they know the street. On the other, they break the rules and take the heat. They're nobody's fool.
They're at their best when the going gets tough. Put to the test, and it's never enough. They've got the touch.

Yes. Nostalgia pops and legends appearing are great fun, but once they're reduced to no more than 'music hits, crowd goes mad... old guy totters down the ramp', it's time to go. Doesn't mean they can't come back for special appearances on Legends Contracts.
The old guys in the WWE at the moment add nothing that a much younger guy couldn't do. Taker is the only one who even stirs up the crowd, and he only appears once a year. But what do you want, him being wheeled down to the ring at Wrestlemania 40 for a match? No. He's had a great career, but his time is up.

If it's all of them or none of them, I keep all of them, for being draws and helping build new guys. With better booking, though, they all have something to offer anyway.

I don't like it either.
However, it's good for business because the casual fan/kiddos love it. We're the minority, and unless the crowd stars vehemently shitting on them it ain't stopping anytime soon.
Still...I like having Brock around and wouldn't be opposed to a Batista return. His heel stuff is amazing and his wrestling picked up a lot at the end. Besides, both Batista and Brock earn (ed) their positions. Tista was even working SD and had a great mini feud with Ziggler. Brock is Brock. Everyone loves him.

Semi regular appearances, 38, top babyface and still brilliant So you can get rid of taker, HHH, show etc but Brock would stay

Semi regular appearances, 38, top babyface and still brilliant So you can get rid of taker, HHH, show etc but Brock would stay Believe it or not Big Show is actually still a draw/over. He got the biggest pop when he returned during a dark match after RAW that I went too. He appeals to the casual fan base. So as much as we hate him for his locality, he's good for them to have around. Still, I personally wouldn't miss him and agree it's time to move on and try and create new stars. The reason guys like Show appeal to the casual fans is that after the death of WCW a large portion of fans just left. With guys like Show who where in WCW and the WWF, the casual fan is more drawn to them as they are most likely disconnected from the product today. Same with HHH, Sting, Taker and etc. I've never been an HHH fan so if he never wrestles again I won't lose any sleep. I reiterate. It has nothing to do with his position, it has nothing to do with Steph, I just legitimately never enjoyed him. Even as a kid, I never hated him as a heel. I hated him because I thought he was mind jarringly boring and his matches where bad.

Yes, without question.
The ratings aren't going to decline because Taker can no longer make his 1-2 times a year appearance.

Definitely yes. Kick out the old guys, stubbornly commit to the new guys, and set fire to the bridge behind you. That seemed to work once before with some measure of success.

As a casual fan of the product - yeah probably.
As a businessman - absolutly not, and I forsee those mentioned to be hanging around for many years to come. Rightly or wrongly, their legacy is synomynous with the product at the moment in that their names still draw big crowds, not to mention the merchandise.
