Something I thought of earlier and that's the lack of unstoppable monster heels, something that has always been around in WWE since I can remember, from Zeus, Earthquake, Yokozuna, Giant Gonzalez, Umaga, Khali..
The newer guys just don't have that. Owens and Rusev are big, brawling guys but they're made to look mortal and beatable, not the "who can possibly stop this guy" mentality of old.
Do you miss it?

I'm not sure many people are truly lamenting the lack of a new Big Show. They're still wanting to get rid of the old one.

Don't worry, Baron Corbin is on his way....
The problem with 'who can possibly stop this guy?' monster heels is that, someone is going to stop them (guess who?). And then they're done. Guys like Owens and Rusev can take a loss, then talk and wrestle their way back to being credible.

I just hate monster heels in general. They dont add anything remotely exciting to me.

I'd argue Rusev was pretty much a monster until he got injured. He had a long winning streak, won most his matches in dominant fashion despite being a heel, and didn't get pinned himself until the company's biggest event by its biggest star. It was hobbling around on crutches and getting cuckolded by Dolph took away that aura of menace.

Kinda glad we don't have any right now. They've gotten kinda tiresome as of late

With how much is going into actually showing good matches, I don't know if there's space for another Giant Gonzales. Now that kayfabe is dead, being super tall just isn't as impressive anymore, and it's not worth having them lumber around the ring awkwardly. I think if we do see another monster heel, it's going to have to be a guy who can really move for his size, and work halfway decently.

I dunno, even before his match with Cena he was having lengthy, hard fought matches with guys like Ziggler, and had to cheat to beat the Big Show.

Honestly, the only monster needed is Brock
Luke Harper could also be an amazing Monster Heel who is big and can move around in the ring but the WWE are morons and wont use him...

I don't see why he couldn't have Show spot in the authority. You can say he wouldn't fit the mold the authority wants but that's the point. They are hypocrites looking to fulfill their own agenda.

It's a tired concept, the only ones I really enjoyed over the last few years were Brock Lesnar and 2011 Mark Henry

Heel or Face, Lesnar is enough for me. He is the closest thing to a monster you can get.

I love monster heels like Bundy, Yoko, Big Daddy V, Vader, Earthquake. They're among my favorite wrestling characters. In a sport where you have to pin your opponent they make a lot of sense. I wish there was more balance as it seems they are going too far in favor of flippy indie spot monkey guys. WWE's kinda turning into Cirque de soliel.

If they're like Brock, then yes I love them.
If they are like Big Show or Kane, then no, I will change the channel.
Kane has at least been interesting at times, but the only thing different about the Big Show is how fat he has gotten.
Most big guys are terrible in the ring and can't talk. I am not sure who is willing to pay to see that anymore.
I remember Snisky trashing Rollins on Twitter for being small. Are some of these guys actually told people will pay to see them because of their size?

I could happily never see another 7ft unstoppable monster again.
Problem it's almost always the same.. Come in, squash jobbers for awhile, go on an unbeaten run, challenge champion for title, lose to champion, challenge again with special match stipulations, lose again.... Face turn comedy dancing gimmick.
Thanks but no thanks.

Is it any worse than similar looking mid-size midcarders that trade wins in an unending series of average matches that involve the same 12 moves?

Given the gnashing of teeth of the possibility of damaging Lesnar's 'aura' I guess he's the monster. I'd rather see another Kane.

Yeah, it is.
With that said, Beock plays the role pretty awesome.

On the left, Braun Stowman. 6'8" 385 lb former strongman. On the right, Dylan Mile. 6'3" 285lb... just look at him. Both are long term prospects that are extremely green at this point, but I suspect both will get a chance at some point. Stowman comes off as a bit of a goof -in a good way, maybe a modern day Hillbilly Jim type. Theres less tape on Mile, but again just freakin look at the guy.
