So...anyone else marathon this or at least start/have any interest in this? It has a magical cast and is really funny, if you haven't. I do suggest if you haven't seen the movie that you really need to do so beforehand, and that is also on Netflix. Anyways, I won't spoil anything but I'll just start by saying Paul Rudd's introduction in the first episode is pure gold.

This is amazing timing. I just showed my wife this movie last night on Netflix because we just happened to see it. She loved it. I knew they were making a show, but didn't know it started yet. It's on Netflix?

Will watch eventually. Heard it's a prequel. So it's a bunch of 40 something year olds playing camp counsellors. Maybe they find the fountain of youth to explain why they look so young in the movie .

It feels good to be back at Camp Firewood, slight goofy spoiler but my first big crack up was the french director attempting to do the Willy Wonka somersault spot and injuring his knee

I saw a trailer for this the other day.
I had no idea the film even existed, but the cast of this series has piqued my interest

That's part of the joke, given that it was in the original too. And a few of them, while obviously not looking 16, still look close to their 20s; Paul Rudd for one seems to have not aged a day since 2001. He looked older in I Love You Man so I think they've done really good makeup on him.

The others look slightly aged but not too bad...and then there's Michael Showalter.

Wet Hot American Summer is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen so I am beyond stoked to watch this. Really looking forward to it.

I just watched the movie for the first time and I absolutely loved it. One of the funniest movies I've seen in a long time.
I'll start the show later tonight. Really looking forward to it.

The creative scene with Michael Ian Black and Bradley Cooper was hysterical.

Alright, I'm just gonna come out and say it, I watched the film a little while ago and really didn't enjoy it. I felt like I should, the comedy felt like it should be my type of thing, but absolutely nothing. Only thing I enjoyed was Paul Rudd's over-acting.

Watched it and it was awesome! Seriously I was really skeptical about this prequel for years and I'm glad it delivered. Like I was afraid it was going to go way overboard, or wink way too much to the audience that it's a joke reminding it's self aware, give too many references to the past film or recycling the same jokes, focus more on guest stars, and focus more on absurdity and mean spiritedness for the sake of mean spiritedness than character and plot development. Like the common traps that many self aware or mean spirited shows fall into eventually.
So yeah this exceeded my expectations and works great as a stand alone but works greater if you seen the film which I recommend on seeing first. But even with it being great, I'll be worried if they announce a second season unless they have a really good funny hook. Like the main joke of this series that made this season work was it was all a prequel and it all happened in a day. What other premise can they do to top it and not make it seem like a rehash or way to over the top?

Powered through it and it was quite enjoyable. As far as the cast looking close to how they did in the original, Ken Marino surprised the shit out of me. Dude somehow manged to look better. Showalter though, good lord. It actually added to the comedy though so I'm not hating. All around funny stuff though.
