I turn 30 next month. Cannot believe I've never seen it until now.
Apparently features the first fart joke in film history.

Don't worry I'm 30 and I haven't seen it either. I also have no interest in ever watching it.

Are we awake?
We're not sure....are we....black??
Yes, we are.
Then we're awake....but we're very puzzled.
Don't know, Mongo only pawn in game of life.
Those scenes, along with the old bitch woman who racially insults poor Bart are the ones I just laugh so hard at.

One of my all time favorites. My all time favorite opening songs for a movie to. My favorite part of this was the singer, Frankie Laine, didn't know it was a for a comedy.

What did you expect? "Welcome, sonny"? "Make yourself at home"? "Marry my daughter"? You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons.

Fun fact, Richard Pryor was one of the writers...but his main stuff was for Mongo. I think he was supposed to be the lead, but liked the way Cleavon Little looked and the way he delivered the material, so he said Little should play Bart. Also, Dick Shawn (LSD in The Producers) was supposed to play the Waco Kid, while Gene Wilder would play Headley LaMarr. Wilder kept telling Brooks that he'd be better as Waco and that Headley wasn't really his type of role, but according to Brooks himself, Brooks only changed his mind when they went to shoot Waco's first scene (where he's hanging upside down from the jail cot) and he couldn't get over how well Shawn was playing a drunk with a hangover...until he noticed Shawn actually was already drunk and passed out. They got Shawn to rehab post-haste and recast the two roles.

Yeah, Mel Brooks kept complimenting how well Dick was acting (I believe he was even foaming at the mouth) before they cut and realized he wasn't acting.
