So yeah, this was my first time watching an AAA event, and I had to say, I'm really baffled on how awful was
For starters, the english production was awful, lots of audio troubles, camera shaking, and cutting the PPV in the final part of the event.
Also, the matches sucked, and an ending that will make Russo reconsider his phobia on mexican wrestling

Basically, Rey Mysterio and Myzteziz were the main event, after a hard fought battle, Mysterio gets the win. Later los perros del mal appeared with a friggin staple gun and attacked both guys, after fighting back with an spot where myzteziz did his best tribute of sin cara, he turns heel and attack rey challening him for a mask vs mask match while los perros where waching After this los perros offer myzteziz and spot on his team and then, the production cuts because why not?

Ok, not a lucha expert so sorry if I get the some of the names wrong, but basically... Myzteziz comes out to a few boos and acts a little heelish at the beginning of the match. Him and Rey have an interesting, intense match with a few table spots (and in a truly wonderful moment, Rey took a powerbomb through the English commentary table) but nothing too memorable. Rey wins with a fujiwara armbar and then starts to celebrate with Antonio Pena's widow at ringside when the Hell Brothers and Averno attack Myzteziz in the ring with a stapler. Rey runs in for the save, they clear the ring, tandem 619's, etc. The announcers are teasing a tag team feud and the heels bug out while Rey gets on the mic. Before Rey can finish speaking, Myzteziz spits in Rey's face and takes the mic and goes nuts on the crowd for booing him. He cheap shots Rey and puts him through the table again and challenges Rey to Mask vs. Mask when Konnan and La Socieadad [?] are seen at ringside. The feed cuts to the closing highlight package and then back to the ring without explaining why Konnan was there and fades out.

This was my first AAA show ever and I honestly have no idea what to make of it.
Production issues pretty much all night long , cutting away from the matches and the worst of times etc hell if not for striker I would have long tuned out because of just having no idea what the hell was going on.
And then to top it off ending the ppv before the actual show ends.
I honestly hope this is not what El Rey and AAA are negotiating to bring because this was horrendous the absoloutle complete opposite of Lucha Underground.

It was awful, one of the worst wrestling shows I have seen, but given I'm mexican I'm used to disappointment in my lucha libre; Lucha Underground is what it happens when you take mexican wrestling and get rid of all its problems and polished with american culture and good tv presentation; Lucha Underground is not real lucha, but it's better.

I've always had trouble getting into AAA(and CMLL as well) and this certainly didn't help.

I am glad I forgot all about this. After how great LU was I was tempted by that but completely forgot. Sounds like a good move by my brain.

Some quotes from Meltzer:
"Holy shit. Think of the worst match that you ever saw. That would be a fantastic match compared to this."
"Yes, we have the best flyers in the world and they are in a cage match. We will be having all sorts of dives off the cage here no doubt."
"This match made the least use of some talented guys..."
"This was something else."
"When I tell my grandkids about this show, they will think I'm making it up."

This was shockingly bad. I mean, I looked at the card and I saw two matches that were going to be bad no matter what. Then * The opener (which is supposed to get the crowd hot) felt like a complete snore. * The match the follows is the worst trios match you could imagine happens (which I expected to be bad, considering everyone's age). * Then you get an good trios cage match that gets hampered by technical problems. * You get the highlight of the show which is the Hall of Fame inductions of Garza and Aguayo * The second half begins with a match where both La Parka and El Mesias (who are no spring chickens themselves) have to cover for the terribleness of Blue Demon Jr. and Electroshock (who looked like what would happen if someone skinned Giant Gonzales alive) * The best match of the night follows with Alberto El Patron taking on Brian Cage in a hair vs. hair that should have been better if not for the interference and heel referee. * Finally the dream match and it almost delivers......except we get the referee with the slowest count I have ever seen and some spots that will probably be on Botchamania (was not just Mystiziz fault) * After that, the heel group comes down for whatever reason and beats the crap out of Mysteziz while Rey is outside taking his sweet ass time to make the save. * The two masked men eventually beat the heels after several minutes of teasing that they are going to get a staple gun. Here is where you get Mysteziz turn into Botch Cara as he trips while diving to the outside. * Joe Lider ultimately gets the staple gun * The heels retreat and Mysterio tries to compliment Mysteziz, only for the later to spit some liquid in his face and essentially turn heel. * Mysteziz challenges Rey to a mask vs. mask match (something that they are completely hot-shotting knowing the history of these matches) * Matt Striker tries to say something as Konnan offers Mysteziz a spot in the heel group (the same group that a few minutes ago beat the crap out of him and almost got him with a staple gun). But they are cut off. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}* Then in the actual show (not the ppv broadcast), Mysteziz puts on the heel stable shirt (which he has trouble putting on), basically joining with the guys who almost tried to take him out of action. We all made fun of how terrible Slammiversary was and in all honesty, it deserved that criticism. But I feel that this was worse. Even for people who were involved with getting this thing to have a chance on PPV, they were tweeting how crushed they were by all the technical difficulties that were happening. By the way, it is Triplemania XXIII, not XIII

Does Sin Carazyz' mask look different than when he was Sin Cara?
Because I'm trying to picture Sin Cara trying to spit something in that mask.
