After AJ's NJPW contract expires this is gonna be an interesting situation to follow for sure. I wonder if they'll offer him big money to jump ship. There was that rumor earlier this year about them being interested. Do you think AJ Styles could be a top draw for WWE at this point in the game with his recent success, and would they book him as a star?

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they at least tried to get him. They need more talent if they are dead serious about turning NXT into a second touring brand and it really don't get much better (from an indie credibility standpoint and a wrestling standpoint) than AJ Styles.

So he makes $8K for indy appearances, and has his hotel and flights paid for. And he's probably making six figures in New Japan. I'd say he's making at least 500K total for less dates. He'd be crazy to pass that up for WWE at this point.

Yeah, dude's making bank in New Japan & the indies, doubt he's gonna think about WWE, getting paid less and moving his family to Florida at this point. Could see him being this generation's Sting, completing the TNA-WCW allegory.

He's a black hole of charisma. I think he'd be wiser to stay in Japan.

I wouldn't go that far, dude's not great on the mic, but his Bullet Club antics have been pretty hilarious. His recent match with Bad Luck Fale was amusing.

Would his liberal use a bad term hamper his shot with WWE?
They sacked HOGAN, AJ isn't above not being signed.

There's really no point in giving up half a mil to rot in NXT for a year before they get the call up and even then the booking will be suspect. Hindsight is 20/20, but a guy like Joe was probably better off going to ROH and New Japan.

If they can give him a good deal, aka $$$, I would hope he would at least consider going to WWE.
Would be nice to see him get appreciated by the casual fans and not just the die-hard fans.
Personally, I think we would do extremely well in WWE.

He's grown on me since leaving TNA, but he would be an idiot to go to WWE at this point.

Hindsight is 20/20, but a guy like Joe was probably better off going to ROH and New Japan. It's not just the money. Take Joe, he's done ROH and Japan. This is WWE, you take a paycut, but you get to go to the biggest organisation in the world and show you can make it and earn a lot more long term and become a huge worldwide star if it works out.

WWE have the best leader that the Bullet Club ever had on their books at the current time, and he is their NXT champion and has potential to be a bigger draw. AJ is 38, and while many aspects of his wrestling style are pretty good, his favoured finishing move (Styles Clash) is really dangerous and does not look good at all, especially without a pin that puts most of the opponents weight down on the shoulders.
And looking at it from his point of view, he is head of the top heel faction in NJPW, and is also a major player in a rising promotion in RoH. For that, AJ would have to spend a lot of time in developmental, and work the punishing WWE schedule, which is a lot tougher for someone with a high risk moveset such as AJ Styles. Not to mention that for him to be in developmental would be quite insulting, and that a lot of his moveset and workstyle would be toned down. And then there is the matter of him being ex TNA.

Once his NJPW contract is up, I could see AJ going to NXT. He's making more than enough money right now to be set for life, so he will pretty much e able to do what he wants-and I could see him doing it pretty much just to say he had officially been a WWE star. He's still perfectly capable in the ring and would fit like a glove in NXT, but he'll never be a top draw.

I don't think they'll let him do the Styles Clash considering he's hurt a WWE alumni, Yoshi Tatsu with it.
