So what happens now I wonder? Do they brush Monday off as an anomaly, wrong crowd on the wrong night kind of thing? Or do they actually hunker down and examine what's wrong with this whole thing? The MizTV thing where Miz had the audacity to suggest that Team PCB start thinking about the only title in the game, and their insistence that the Divas' division is a team sport is so bonkers to me. You only get one chance to make a first impression and what they did with the NXT girls was everything I've dreaded since day one of this supposed revolution. They all look like such dummies now. What they should do is build Nikki Bella as desperate to keep her reign. Kick off a tournament to crown a number one contender and go from there... What will happen is Charlotte wins a battle royal with Nikki on commentary insisting that she loves Charlotte and that she's fighting for change, because Nikki doesn't like playing a heel anymore for some reason.

Every few years McDonalds comes out and says they're listening to their customers and updating their menus, improving their product and blahblahblah. It's utter crap. Because they know full well that nothing is going to change. It's just a way to silence their critics for a bit while drumming up some good publicity.
And that is exactly what happened with the Diva's Revolution. Vince & Company wanted to tell everyone, "see, we're taking this seriously". But the goal was never to improve the women's division, it was to get the fans to stop complaining about how shitty the division had become. Other than shuffling a few divas around, and slapping on the name Diva's Revolution nothing has changed.
And the absoulte beauty of this whole cluster was how badly it failed. It's like they tried to fix up a1972 Vega by just painting it. And then hired Stevie Wonder to do the paint job.

From WrestlingINC, who cite the Wrestling Observer Newsletter as their source:
So, does that mean the segment wasn't heavily scripted and the participants are to blame? Or does it mean the writers are incapable of crafting coherent dialogue? Still enough ambiguity there to assign culpability to whomever you choose.
Side Note: Do you think [insert the authority figure whom you believe retains an antiquated view on women's wrestling here] considers the success of Lana/Summer (at least relative to that of the Divas Revolution) as a form of vindication?

They tried to create tension by teasing the breakup of a faction no one gives a shit about, in order to get a shot at a title no one cares about held by a person who inspires mostly apathy, and is champion for transparently bullshit reasons.

Not to mention said champion remarked, on air, that wins and losses don't matter and that nobody should care about that sort of thing.

Lance... Diva is a compliment in Opera Though the term's big comeback in the late 90's early 2000's which is why it was given to begin with seems to be forgotten... though it will be 10 years before realizes it's kinda outdated again

Yeah "diva" became a thing in modern lexicon as a negative for discussing spoiled music artists who wanted brown M&Ms picked out of their bowls. Then a decade later that Beyonce song to "empower" it or whatever.
I agree with every word Storm said there pesonally.

Here's Lance Storm's view on it. This is just perfect. How can nobody in the WWE be this clever?

VH1 grabbed onto it originally they had all sorts of Diva specials that had all sorts of big female singers in the 90's which brought it back originally.

the VH1 specials were meant to put the positive definition back though

I certainly don't think the thought behind the storyline should be removed but yeah, it's time to go the drawing board. I assumed Summerslam was the payoff to this team shit but then these goofballs got the nerve to parity book the match the next night on Raw. Nah, you gotta do better than that, brah.

the VH1 specials were meant to put the positive definition back though Oh see I don't know anything about these then. I just remember the old "THEE BITCHES SO CRAZY THEY DIVAS!" shit about brats in the music industry and their crazy demands. Never came to my ears again until the B song so I missed these "positive" spin specials I guess. Either way the term needs to go from WWE, they're goddamn women. So .

Well yeah, the term went out of use again... I mean the last time that it was used was.. *looks up VH1 Divas* 2012? really... I swore the last time they had one of those was like 10 years ago... ANYWAY! Yeah, though WWE like trademarking their things to make them sound larger than life (that's why they're superstars and not wrestlers afterall) but... Divas isn't really the right term for that and Women Superstars sounds off... I guess they could just call them Superstars... regardless of what they call it the Butterfly belt does need to be dropped... for something that looks more like a championship... and nicer looking than the old Women's Title which was super plain.

Superstars is fine. Divas is not. It came into modern use as a negative and even in the more modern sense according to the song it's "a female version of a hustler". No matter what definition you use for it it has ONE meaning and it gives all of their women ONE character. "BITCHES BE CRAZY!". Total Divas does nothing to help the term either. Either way my point is I personally feel they should be "women" first instead of being pigeonholed.

Stephanie loves Serena Williams apparently.
Maybe she could explain why Serena and Novak Djokovic are both called "tennis players"
Why isn't Serena called a "Court-esean" or "Net-ess" or a "Baseline Babe" or some other shit WWE would insist on calling her.

Storm is correct on everything. That segment could be the worst on Raw this year, WWE havn't a clue.
