Just curious. I guess if you have really negative experiences you can just leave out the names or what have you. Curious about Mods here and non-mods alike.
This is based on my recent experience being a flagmoderator on a dating website. It's about what you'd expect. Lots of dudes hanging dong.

I've honestly never even been on a forum beyond this one in any capacity.

Yes, I was a moderator on the defunct Speed Channel forums many years ago.
It sucked and I only stuck around as long as I did because I got free swag every year.

Not a forum, but I was actually an admin of the Yu-Gi-Oh Wikia. Had to deal with a lot of idiots messing with the pages and trying to add their OCs as canon stuff.

Was a moderator/admin at draftcountdown.com forums for about 7 years before the forum essentially went up in smoke and most of the regulars moved to a different board, not unlike wrestlecrap to FAN. It was an NFLDraft/Sports/Offtopic board that used to be really busy.

A few years ago I was a mod on a wrestling forum, it was ok. It was dying so it was really quiet most of the time. All I ever had to do was ban spammers.

Ugh, I was a moderator once on a forum where the mods only had the power to edit posts. I don't think we could move threads at my level or lock them, and we certainly couldn't ban anyone. The administrator seemed to get more paranoid and delusional over time and virtually abandoned trying to help the moderators, who had no direct way of communicating with each other, and could do virtually nothing about the adbots pouring in except remove their links. There was some global moderator, maybe 2 or 3, and they could perform usual moderator functions, but we had to just hope they'd eventually get around to banning people, which took days at a time. When the forum eventually disappeared, no one heard from the admin again that I know of, and everyone went their separate ways.

I've only made multiple posts in two forums before joining up here. I wasn't at either longer than maybe five months, combined.

Was the admin for an Efed like 10 years ago... didn't have near the amount of members as here.
Don't have any real horror stories from then.

Only a mod here, currently I guess. I wandered around a few forums before this place until I settled here to lay my eggs. I reckon I'll leave once they've hatched and eaten everyone's brains.
But seriously, this place is more or less my couch on the internet. I'm a member in a few other forums, but for most part most of what I post is here.

Briefly. It did not go well. Of course, that was 10+ years ago, so who knows how shit would go down now.

I think I'm still a mod on Hardcoregaming101's forums despite being inactive for almost a year.
I'm admin for a Final Fantasy fansite that at one point had well over 5,000 members. Nowadays it's a smaller, more tight-knit community. I've also been mod or admin of a couple of spinoff communities that originated from there.
I also used to be officer of a couple of WoW guilds, including temporary GM when the original GM needed to go on hiatus for a couple of months. But I stepped down due to my mental health.

Years back I was a moderator on a fan forum for the Cartoon Network series: Foster's Home For Imaginary Friends. It was a pretty good gig and I met some interesting and very nice people on both sides of the forum. Because of them I actually worked up the courage to leave home to meet some of those guys in person.
Yeah there were a few scrapes with the usual troublemakers, trolls and other assorted nogoodniks (Much like today some cartoons can attract a certain portion of fans that are not shall we say normal.), but myself the other mods and the admins always came together to keep things in check.
I haven't posted there in over three years, mostly because I went off to pursue other pursuits and well the the show ended its run in 2009 so really there hasn't been a lot to talk about on that particular subject.

Yeah, I used to be admin/mod of a forum for abandonware. The owner was from Bosnia and we had members from all parts of the world... but it was a small forum, really. I think we had like 3 admins, 4 mods, and maybe 20 members. Of course, there wasn't much to do in the way of moderation so much as fixing forum errors and what-not.

I modded, then admin'd on a e-fed resource site that was fairly big back in the day. I was also a "forum leader" on another e-fed resource site, but I was in charge of the one section of the forum that the less activity the better (reporting trouble makers and flakes in e-feds).
I've still got mod powers on one of the e-feds I was in years ago, but it's currently dead.
I've got admin powers on a few failed/never started/half baked projects I've started in the past, but those don't count.
