Patrick Dangerfield is the 2016 Brownlow medalist... I'll let that shock out of no where result sink in. Did not watch the thing but I heard somebody broke wind and Dangerfield replied with 'Woah, did someone step on Wayne Carey?' . He then left the stage to Journey's Any Way You Want It. Some quick Stats: Paddy Dangerfield has become the first player in 31 years to win Charlie in a debut year for a football club. The last was Brad Hardie who won the 1985 Brownlow medal playing for the Footscray Bulldogs one season after moving from the WAFL team South Fremantle Dangerfield winning continues the trend of the Brownlow winner not playing in the following weekend's Grand Final. The last player to do that was Collingwood's Dane Swan in 2011. But if Jobe Watson is stripped of his medal then it will move to 2012 with Hawthorn's Sam Mitchell. And in case you are wondering Gary Ablett Jr was the last player to win a Brownlow and the Premiership in the same year: 2009.

The true winners were the fans. And the winning team, they're also winners. The losing team? They're not winners. They're losers.
I hope this clears up any confusion you may have had.
Also, the fans aren't winners, they're just fans.
