Why are they here?
Seems like the WWE has enough tag teams that they don't promote at all. Did they have to bring in a couple of guys from the 90s to shake things up? Should I be concerned that there's going to be another New Age Outlaws run, or that Animal will come back and team up with another hoss for the latest incarnation of LOD?
Are the other tag teams so lacking in drawing power that they have to go nostalgia on us, or does the WWE just not give a damn about the tag division, and are therefore letting New Day run wild on their gimmick?

The Dudleyz were more an early 2000s thing, but I like the idea that people unhappy with them being here will push it back further and further to illustrate resentment.
"And here we have Captain f***ing Ahab and Ishmael, here to rub their old man smell all over New Day!"

Never a bad thing to add depth to the tag team division.

Never a bad thing to add depth to the tag team division. And if this was adding depth, I'd agree with you.

So there's a tag team other than New Day that people actually care about? (I don't really count The Wyatt's or Ambrose/Reigns because they're not in the tag division)

As long as they don't take the titles off the New Day, I think it's fine for them to be around and at least give the New Day a face team to go up against.
When the Dudleys win the title, I will complain vigorously online, yes I will.

I liked this board better before it became constant bitching and bellyaching.

I'm happy to see the Dudleys back but they did they have to beat the tag champs clean in their first Raw match back? I mean could they not work their way up to a title shot? Beat some of the lower tag teams for a few weeks before proving hey deserve a number one contenders match?

I'm not really sure what everyone is crying about. There was an actual tag team match as the main event of raw. The New Day are really doing a great job in this situation and making this feud fun. While the Dudley's won the match, they didn't get them through the table, so they are giving the feud somewhere to go. In the end, I see Dudley's getting Xavier Woods through the table, but losing the title match. It adds interest to the tag division, the Dudleys are over despite what people think, and it brings a fresh team in besides the New Day and Prime Time Players as the only teams that are over in the division.

I got no problem with the Dudleyz. I would prefer asshole heel Dudleyz but hey, another team!

Why would they give away Dudleys vs New Day a week after their come back?

Because they can still go in the ring and the crowd loves them.

I love the Dudley Boys being back. One of the all-time great tag teams that can still go both in the ring and on the mic. Just because they were popular 10 years ago doesn't mean that they can be valuable now.
No one complained when Funk was in ECW and I see this the same as when he helped the ECW guys. As long as they can still go in the ring they are helping the product. It will also help the tag teams on the roster now by getting to work with a veteran tag team.

You seem to believe that the options were to either bring in the Dudleys or push/promote a different team.
In reality the options were to bring in the Dudleys or continue to generally ignore the tag division as a whole and just throw them out there for 1 pointless segment a night that the New Day miraculously manages to save because of how awesome they are.
Adding the Dudleys isnt blocking anyone else, its really just enhancing the spotlight on New Day for a bit by being able to feud with someone that wwe cares about highlighting far more than theyd ever care about trying to build up one of the other nothing-teams in the division.
Obviously, it would be better if that weren't the case and they were committed to trying to build star tag teams, but that's just not how they work, so I have zero issues with the Dudleys coming in.

I tuned into Raw last night. The Dudley's are definitely needed. Did anyone notice the marshmallow stomping that The New Day were "laying in" in the corner? Holy smokes...that was the worst stomping Ive ever seen. Been a fan for three decades, never seen worse. Ever. The Dudley's could teach those ballet dancers a thing or two. Hell, isnt Arn Anderson an agent? Someone should teach those guys to stomp.
