The entire presentation of the Japanese national anthem at SummerSlam '93 should be pushed up higher on the list of disgraceful things the company has ever done.

Val Venis had a physical altercation with Mario Lopez once.
Too bad that didn't lead somewhere. I'd pay good money to see Mario get beat up.

Started watching the Raws I attended at Penn State, never seen the actual broadcasts. First one is 2 weeks after King of the Ring 1998, with Undertaker dressing as Kane to get the title shot at Summerslam and the incredibly racist DX "Nation" parody.
They didn't announce that Danny Hodge was the Brawl For All ref to the crowd. I saw the toughest man to ever live!

On the 9/6/86 WWF Boston Garden show Gorilla says that Sivi Afi wants to be called his island name Toma and he will be forming a team with King Tonga who wants to be called Haku. That team did not last long. Maybe Gorilla was confused? It was confusing. To break it down: - The WWF had three mid-card Samoans in 1986 - King Tonga (Haku), The Tonga Kid (Tama, earlier Samoan #4 for a VERY short house show run), and "Superfly Afi" (Siva Afi/Sivi Afi), who was originally billed as Snuka's cousin or nephew or something. Also, to confuse things further, Sika returned that year as a singles wrestler. - King Tonga and The Tonga Kid worked together quite often in the mid card as a tag-team and as singles, while Afi floundered because fans were unhappy Snuka was gone. King Tonga even worked some main events on non-Hogan house shows against Studd, Bundy, et al. - King Tonga spent the early months of 1986 assisting Steamboat in his feud with Muraco. Tonga would come to the ring with Steamboat and tag with him on house shows vs. Muraro/Fuji. He was also inserted into 6-man tags with a combo of Andre/Hogan/SD Jones vs. the Heenan Family or Fuji's guys. The Tonga/Steamboat team appears to have been considered a legit contender for a bit, as they were teamed up all through the spring. When Steamboat was in the semi-main on cards vs. Savage, Tonga teamed with Ted Arcidi. - In May 1986, King Tonga and Sivi Afi teamed on up several house shows against the Moondogs and other jobber teams with Tiger Chung Lee, Barry O, Johnny K-9, etc. On an MSG network card on July 12, Tonga & Afi teamed up against Studd/Bundy, but they were billed as their original names, not Haku/Toma. They continued teaming up for a few months but NEVER got introduced as Haku & Toma as far as I've seen. - Over the summer, Tonga Kid/King Tonga/Sivi Afi worked some 6-man matches together, some on TV. Still, they were billed as their original names. It seems that this was where the switch was made to team up King Tonga & the Tonga Kid instead of using Afi. - August 27, 1986 taping of Wrestling Challenge in Hartford, the team of Tonga Kid & King Tonga were first billed as "The Islanders", with the names Toma & Haku. This aired in September. At house shows the next month, both wrestlers finished up their singles runs under their original names. Once the episode aired, they fully became Toma & Haku. - By October house shows, the name Toma had been changed to Tama. So, I don't believe that Sivi Afi was ever known as Toma. And this was how I spent 15 minutes tonight as I waited for a cab.

WOW watching The July 14,1997 edition of RAW and there’s a light heavyweight division match between Taka and a clean shaven, trunk wearing Tajiri Yoshihiro. Who is Tajiri of ECW fame. They went real creative with his name lol

Any idea on why Lee Marshal got kicked in the face at World War 3 Because he was Lee Marshall.Even as a kid with little behind the scenes knowledge I totally got why someone would want to kick Lee in the face.

Luger lost his NWA title match with Ric Flair at Wrestle War 1990 by count out when Ole & Arn Anderson prevented Lex from getting back into the ring. They did this by full on attacking Lex and hitting him. The referee, of course Nick Patrick, was looking right at this and just kept counting to 10. It of course should have been a DQ since Ole and Arn not only put their hands on Lex, but also threw punches at him. This was not a no DQ match either. Dusty was long gone by 1990, but his booking savvy was still in place apparently.

DDP at Uncensored 96 looked like Raven before there was Raven Raven debuted in ECW in January 1995. DDP takes credit for creating the Raven character. He’s said back then he,levy and disco would play cards and talk wrestling he came up with the idea for the character and Kimberly was the one who suggested Levy play the character.

Watching Clash of Champions 11 from June 1990. Tracy Smothers and Steve Armstrong debut as a good ol' southern boys tag team. They come out dressed in Confederate army outfits with the Confederate flag on their tights. Yeah, that really happened.

If that upsets you, you may want to avoid the very short Freebirds WWF run in 1984.

On the 3/24/97 Nitro when Savage and the nWo are making their way to the ring for the match with Prince Iaukea, Nash throws up the Kliq sign and shouts into the camera "right back at ya HBK!"
