I might have found the first "You Suck!" chants to Kurt Angle's music. The Smackdown before No Way Out 2001, Kurt was basically promoting the fact that his theme song was on WWF The Music Vol 5 (and was much better than the song called "Pie" sang by The Rock!) and the second time Kurt plays the theme the crowd gradually start off a You Suck chant in time with the theme as we all know it today. This show happened in Kemper Arena, in Kansas City, the same building tragically known for Over The Edge 99.

I know Edge was the one who got me calling Angle "Dorkboy"...

Say what you will about the "Boogie Woogie Man" Jimmy Valiant...I may not like his wrestling ability, but darn could he sell a betrayal well.
Just watched the WCW episode where Pistol Pez Whatley turned on him and in his comments afterwards, you genuinely feel for him that his heart was ripped out from him. No swagger, no boisterism, just cutting a broken down promo like the worst thing ever happened to him.

No, Edge did a promo where he encouraged the chants, but they were already happening for months, including a variant where people would WHAT! the chants which died once Austin walked out on the company.

The thumbnail image for Wrestlemania 2000 consists of maineventers HHH, Rock & Big Show. And Chris Jericho. Was Mick Foley buying a new flannel shirt that day?

I actually prefer his promo on when Babydoll betrayed him to the Hard Times promo. He really sold it like he lamented that she had done him wrong and that they had become enemies.

Since I am in that period building up to it...was the Jim Crockett Sr. Memorial Tag Team Tournament 1986 broadcast anywhere (on PPV, on CCTV in New Orleans, on TBS or published on VHS or Beta in general)?
Is that tournament perhaps on the Network as well?
The build for it makes me so excited that I kinda want to watch the event.

Out on tape but don't think any of of the 3 Cup shows ever aired in full. when 24/7 was around they aired the show. So it might be on the network one day

Thanks, andrew. Have to say, no matter what kind of person Jim Cornette is in real life...his promos and his commentary during the Midnight Express squashes on these shows are just hilarious.

Jericho was scheduled for the main event and was on the original promotional stuff. He wound up getting heat and not fitting in like they had hoped, so he got pulled from the main event.

Not sure about 86 but the 87 & 88 shows were highlights mostly for the early matches then the semi and Finals were shown in full.

A 14 year old Charlotte Flair cameos on a 2000 Nitro in the build-up to the Great American Bash, in a video Vince Russo and David Flair "expose" how the family "mistreated" David all his life. Strange to see.

You know, for as terrible as the angle surrounding it was, Kimberly wasn't terrible as an egomaniacal "all about me" heel.

Al Snow tricked Nova, Max Mini, El Torito and Battalion into a hardcore title match by threatening them with la migra.

No swagger, no boisterism, just cutting a broken down promo like the worst thing ever happened to him. Then later that year Manny Fernandez turned on him and he was down in the dumps outside playing a harmonica until "Big Momma" came to cheer him up. I also liked how they did the slow burn of Manny turning heel and joining Paul Jones, he would say every week how he didn't have a price, even though it was "a LOT of money" then he did the big turn and then Jones kicked out Pez and Baron in exchange for Rude/Fernandez, which was trading up as those guys became World Tag Champs shortly thereafter. Also, I forgot that Hornswoggle used to talk when he was called "Lil Bastard" with Finlay on Smackdown in early 2007, he was saying how scared he was of the Lil' Boogeyman during the No Way Out 2007 PPV.

I've learnt how f***ing uncomfortable the Pullman/Goldust angle is. Terri is basically raped for a month, no one calls the police or anything, then Pullman dies so there's no payoff anyway.
