The main cast of Seinfeld aside from Kramer. Sure, but that was kind of the point of the show. They were all assholes, except Kramer kinda, and half the fun was in watching them get their comeuppance. I was curious was that really the original intention? It seems like George was always intended to be a jerk. Jerry and Elaine kind of got there as the series went on.

The entire cast of Cheers became unbearable about halfway through the show's run. Roseanne's title character was always abrasive, but the last couple of seasons turned her into a self-righteous shrew.

While I liked the premise of "The Last Man on Earth," the main character is such a jackass that it became hard for me to stick it out thru the season I did quit on that show for that exact reason. It can be tricky to pull-off a character that's annoying within the context of the show that isn't annoying to the viewer.

Yeah..I got this. ![](http://axiomamnesia.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/steve-urkel.jpg) Awkward maybe but definitely not unlikable. His heart was truly in the right place and he viewed the Winslow's as a second family to him. He was a stalker, man...and a mad scientist, while we're at it

Sheldon Cooper from Big Bang Theory. I've racked my brain a lot on this and still can't come up with an answer to why anyone would ever hang out with that insufferable, exaggerated stereotype. God bless Jim Parsons for giving it his all but, Sheldon Cooper is beyond annoying and unlikeable. For some reason, I don't think that was ever supposed to be the intention. I get the feeling that they wanted him to be someone nerds could rally around as an idol on TV.

And they try to make him this character who's somehow charming to the audience. I don't get it. They literally had to explain he saved their lives once, and saved Leonard from giving secrets to a North Korean spy, just to explain why anyone would deal with him. (It is what broke the elevator) Doesn't explain why Penny would, as she wasn't around for it, and why Amy would like him after he's kind of a shithead to her, too, but I guess they hoped it'd at least explain the others, not that they are all that much better sometimes. It really is a cast of decent actors who have to play horrible, terrible people, with mediocre comedic material to work with.

Well she did break up with him in the season finale after having reached her limits.

Awkward maybe but definitely not unlikable. His heart was truly in the right place and he viewed the Winslow's as a second family to him. He was a stalker, man...and a mad scientist, while we're at it Okay, but essentially he was pretty harmless and never actually attempted or intended to hurt anyone. His heart was in the right place and he was very loyal, caring, and a true friend to Eddie, Laura, and Waldo. Especially to Eddie and Laura who were truly unlikable in my opinion. They treated him like crap at times for no reason. Only one who was nice to Steve all the time was their grandmother. So I definitely don't view Steve as unlikable. Awkward? Yes. Unlikable? Far from it.

I dunno, I kinda like Sheldon. They've shown he's not an entirely intolerable person (even in season 2, he was shown to be really good about lending people money), and he's been gradually getting better about some things as time goes on. It doesn't mean I don't get why others dislike him, but he's... well, at least he's not seasons 1-3 Howard Wollowitz.
As for Urkel, honestly... he wasn't really unlikable, he just completely took over the show, which can definitely explain why people don't like him.

That entire cast deserves credit for making that show a hit pretty much on their own. I disagree, Parsons and Kaley Cuoco were the 2 who made it a hit, and it was mainly Parsons. While it took everyone awhile to find their characters, Parsons got it right off the bat, Cuoco got it quickly and her comedic chemistry with Parsons was insane. You really could lose anyone from that cast except for Parsons, and it would still be a hit, even Cuoco, although without her and Parsons' chemistry it wouldn't be as big of a hit. If you dropped Parsons from the show, it's dead, it wouldn't have gotten beyond the first season. Also Sheldon lends out money to his friends and really doesn't care when he gets paid back.

While it's not a traditional sitcom, it's still categorized as a comedy, but Piper from Orange Is The New Black. She is just terrible and season 3 she somehow got even worse.

Like usually he'll break something and scream "look what you did".

I actually didn't hate Piper that much for the first two seasons, but it's obvious they turned up all her most unlikable qualities in season 3 in response to her unpopularity and I just spent the whole season cursing her for her awfulness.
