I've seen at least three names in this thread who were actually supporting characters and not lead characters. Turk should have been the lead of Scrubs.

Morty Smith from Rick and Morty. Despite the unreal trauma his grandfather puts him through he stays good natured and hope filled.

Ron Donald from Party Down I need to re-watch that series sometime. It's amazing the cast they had for that. Plus, since it only ran for two seasons, the show is pretty much all killer, no filler.

Australians are childishly snickering at this thread It's hard not to get repulsed when people start calling Homer Simpson and John Lithgow rootable.

Melanie Morretti, Hot In Cleveland.
She just wants a restart after a divorce. Victoria is such a diva, Joy is kinda pathetic and Elka is egocentric. Can Melanie find happiness?
(Can pretty much pencil in any Valerie Bertinelli role, but this is the most recent.)

Early Corey Mstthews was easy to empathize with. Later Corey Matthews was a p***y. When his voice deepened, his balls dropped so far they fell off completely.

Virginia Chance from Raising Hope is great. It's nice that she's pretty comfortable with her position and makes the best of it. She's like if Roseanne wasn't unpleasant. I like most of the main characters, duh. They make me laugh, they're fun, but I can relate to them. Even Burt is not a total too dumb to live character, and he reminds me of my uncle. Same with Modern Family. I just want to be all their friends. Who else? Rhoda....as Valerie Harper said, "Mary is who you wish you could be, Phyllis is who you're afraid of becoming, and Rhoda is who you are." Ann Marie on That Girl...hot and so much personality. All the Golden Girls.

They introduce the love interest athte beginning, but then they have to drag out teh whole "Will they won't they" for 5+ seasons. So they inevitably do, then don't, then do, then don't, then finally do at teh finale of the series. It happens so often that it's not even interesting anymore.

And by the end of it he had been so awful to Elliot that it pissed me off that she would ever even consider taking him back. Actually he was awful to a lot of women.

Despite being a colossal asshole for 99% of the run of the show, Cox is the only character I consistently liked. Every other character had periods where I found them unbearably irritating.

Woody Boyd. Cheers was an ensemble show so he counts. He was dopey, but never so much as to be completely incapable. And even then, he was clearly savvy enough to run the bar better than his boss.
He would mindf*** his friends and screw with them sometimes, but he never seemed selfish or had malicious goals the writers tried to sell as noble.
I think what added to his likeability was the fact that it was an ensemble show; he didn't get too much spotlight and stayed fairly fresh for such a simple guy.
