Never feel like this guy gets talked about enough. Underrated? His best match? Could he have gone further in WWE? Ihave never felt like this guy has got enough appreciation for how good of a light heavyweight he was. So damn graceful in his high flying, especially his turnbuckle tope con hilos (was he one of the first guys to do a tope con hilo over the turnbuckle/post instead of the middle ropes?) and his moonsaults. The height he got on his moonsaults was just breathtaking. We all know how good Backlash 2000 is, and one of the matches that makes it that good was the excellent Eddie vs Essa match. Rios also wrestled many stars who would also become major players in the next few years after in the indys on Jakked. Most notably Samoa Joe/Low Ki. Nevermind his incredible match against the amazingly talented Taka Michinocu at Wrestlemania XIV, while going by the name of Mr. Águila Reminder of this mans gloriousness in the spoilers {Spoiler}

The only thing I remember this guy for was introducing Lita. That's all.

He was really fun to use when playing No Mercy. He had his own special moonsault that was super-high.

He didn't want to learn English iirc. I think that was a factor in them forgetting about him.

He's only 36!
He should have learnt English when asked, or at least tried.

He's 36!? Wow. He's been around forever.
I was watching some of his handful of ECW appearances only the other day actually, he was certainly athletic, but yeah, without being able to talk he was never gonna go that far in WWE.
As for the corner tope con hilo, first person I ever saw do that was Paul Burchill, who did a no-hands version. And I'm inclined to say his was better. But Rios had one of the best moonsaults around.

That fool was known as Papí Chulo around my house. I didn't know who he was but my parents did. He did cool stuff and introduced Lita. I should go back and watch his matches.

He's only 36! He should have learnt English when asked, or at least tried. That means he would have only been 19 when he came in in 98. If that's not the youngest person ever on a Mania card, he's got to be close/

I really liked the way he moved.
It's a shame his theme hasn't been released. The only versions around are either loops of the guitar solo or it ending with someone in the audience saying, "Which one do you want?"
Dude could go!

Was he the Essa that Eddy was always referencing? ...and who was Holmes? I guess we'll never know.

He didn't want to learn English iirc. I think that was a factor in them forgetting about him. The dude had tights that said "No Destiny" on them. I wonder if someone clued him in on what that meant.

He brought us Lita.
Other than that, dude coulda been just about anyone. He certainly wasn't bad in any way, but there's virtually nothing memorable bout him

He was the best high-flyer that WWE ever had.
I remember when he first debuted as Aguila, the announcers mentioning that he was only 19, so yeah he started really young.
Now as Mr. Aguila, he recently did a 6-man tag with Alberto El Patron, though last I heard, he was with CMLL. I'm hoping he gets some pipeline to work with Lucha Underground (from what I hear their AAA affiliation prohibits them from hiring CMLL guys, so I hope he's done with them for that reason).
