Not me personally, if Frank was coming back to have a hand in a stand alone Daredevil, I'm fairly positive that'd be shit as well. Karen Page would be resurrected, secretly living as a hooker again; Elektra would also be a hooker on the side between assassination gigs. Foggy Nelson would also go into the escort business when when he found out there was money in it. And they'd all be killed before the end by Stick, whose ghost is homophobic and racist.

At the risk of whatever career I still have in the funny-book business, Frank Miller can go **** himself. I still enjoy some of his Sin City books, but as far as his current output I decided I was done with him after All Star B&R and Holy Terror. And without Linkara's commentary, the latter is PAINFUL to read. One of the worst comics I've ever come across, artistically, narratively and morally.

Honestly, I feel almost everything Miller's done post Batman: Year One to be various grades of terrible, and this will likely be no different.

I can see azzarello keeping Millar in check
azzarello is a good writer and I bet DC gave him full control over Millar's story.

Wait, how did this even happen? I thought DC broke all ties with Miller when he pitched them Batman fighting terrorists and that led to him making Holy Terror.

Barely on topic but I wanna ask, I've been trying to get into Batman comics and I'm having a hell of a time trying to actually find anything good. Arkham Asylum: Serious place on serious earth was unenjoyable, Long Halloween is pretty good but the ending is really bad. I liked the Killing Joke and Death of the family however. Would anyone have any they'd recommend? I've been trying to read the most popular issues and so far two of the (apparent) best are kinda underwhelming. Knightfall and No Man's Land are both really good storylines, albeit collected over various trade paperbacks. I'd recommend getting the first one for Knightfall and see how you go from there in terms of liking it or not.

Dark Knight 3 is probably being made because of the upcoming Batman Vs. Superman movie since that movie is using bits and pieces of the Dark Knight for the storyline.

They didn't sever ties with him, they just didn't want tBatman:Holy Terror, so he brought it to another company and made it so the character wasn't Batman.

No Man's Land is a really good story, but be aware it's over five trades. I lucked out early in the year and got all 5 and the prelude Cataclysm on eBay for like ten bucks. No Man's Land is my favourite comic book arc of all time, I can't recommend it enough. The fact that it's pretty self contained (I mean, sure, it helps if you know why some people are the way they are, and the stuff with the Clayfaces gets all kinds of confusing, but as its own story you don't need much background, and most of it is given to you anyway), a good story, involving almost every character in the bat books in various degrees and even opening up possibilities for many characters, new or old, bat-related or not is amazing. So yeah, pick this one up.

Apparently, Miller wanted to revisit Captain America, and I'm dreading the story where he turns Cap into an "ugly American" stereotype fighting not-so-thinly-veiled racist depictions of terrorists.

The Batman Adventures series from the 90s, which have been recently or will be soon released in trade contain the best stories about the character I've read. I also really like "Faces" by Matt Wagner.

- Court Of Owls saga - Zero Year - Batman Eternal - No Mans Land - Endgame - RIP - Batman & Son - Knightfall - Batman: Noel - Earth 1 - Detective Comics (John Layman & Brain Buccalleto runs, AVOID T Daniel's run)
I know New 52 is frowned upon on here but it HAS given us some great stuff

Anyone ever read the What If issue Frank did where Elektra wasn't killed by Bullseye? It's probably the nicest thing anyone's ever done with Murdock (besides Waid), though the ending still kicks 616 Matt in the nads since the story is told to him by The Watcher at "his" Elecktra's grave

I was disappointed by that What IF as it was in the era where the stories only lasted like half the issue and then the second half would be an Eternals back up or whatever.

Despite me slamming Miler in this very thread, Year One may be my all time favorite Bats story. Year One and some of his work on Daredevil have been the only things I've enjoyed from Miller. I hated the first Dark Knight Returns story, despised the second one, and having a feeling I'm not going to like the third one either. I will make some predictions one what will happen though: 1. Superman is going to get the living shit kicked out of him because he's just such a government shill. He'll also be told how worthless, weak, and pathetic he is. 1.5 WHORES 2. All the women save MAYBE for Kelly/Robin/Catgirl/whomever the hell she is...will all be sluts lusting heavily after Batman. 2.5. Yes, WHORES WHORES WHORES 3. Batman will be all knowing, all powerful, unbeatable, the absolute greatest at everything there is ever. 4. Batman will beat and belittle any fellow super heroes in this series, all the while they will mourn out about how he's "right" and how awesome and godly cool he is. 4.5 WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES 5. There will be lots of pointless dumb ass political shenanigans going on, mostly at one particular party's expense that can't be gone into more detail because of board rules. 5.5. WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORESWHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES WHORES I don't really care that someone else is writing this, if this story comes from the tiny pea brain of f***ing Frank Miller it's going to be absolutely horrible. Fixed.

All-Star Batman and Robin might have been one of the worst comic books ever written. It's up there with One More Day One More Day had nothing. At least I could laugh at ASB&R (I STILL WANT MY LAST ISSUE, DAMMIT!!!!!)

As I've said before, One More Day, as dumb as it's execution is, I can at least understand its purpose. I completely disagree with what it accomplished, but I can at least get their reasoning for the WHY they did it. The HOW is just ridiculous and outta character, but you can at least see that they were working toward a goal for where the character should be at the end of it. (Which I hate, but eh, whatever.)
I feel the same about the Clone Saga as well.
For me, bar none, the worst Spidey story is still, and probably always will be Sins Past. It's the one comic where as a grown man I got 'angry' and just set the book aside. I had a subscription to Amazing at the time. It ran out about three issues after that story wrapped, and I just thought "Nah."
