Season 4 Premiere was tonight and it was really enjoyable. I loved the Blue Beetle reference at the very beginning. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}Who's grave do you think that was in the six months later flash forward? Please let it not be Felicity.

Please let it not be Felicity. {Spoiler}With the way everything went tonight, I'm guessing it's Diggle's Okay, this was a really good start to the season. It already seems like a step up from season 3. I immediately felt a tonal shift in show. It felt lighter with a lot more humor but it didn't stray too far from it dark and gritty roots that made it popular. Darhk looks like he'll be a really interesting character. Hell, I even enjoyed the "Olicity" moments. Felicity seem like she's back to her old self.

Felicity is back to her old adorable self Olicity was nowhere as grating as it was last season A definet lighter tone in shift without losing what made it popular LOTS of intrigue in the proper way not unlike last season where nothing real interesting took place untill RA's showed up , and Damien is already a WAY better villan than RA's was last season but also properly different. {Spoiler} As for the end twist I have written off both Felicity and Diggle as both are way too damn obvious for such a twist...so I am thinking Thea takes the permanent nap this time and Oliver will choose not to use the Lazarus pit.

Here's why I don't think it was {Spoiler}Felicity : {Spoiler}Barry wasn't at all broken up about it. Doesn't make sense.

{Spoiler}Went back to watch the reaction and now I am thinking it will be Captain Lance , he was broken up about whoever died but he was not weeping like if family had died.

{Spoiler}It will be Lance. Him being in league with Damien Darhk, is just setting up him sacrificing himself and saving Oliver's life. If it was Felicity or even Diggle, Barry would have been more broken up and no doubt Cisco and Caitlin would be there. Right now, Barry just knows Lance, he's not friends with him like he is with Diggle and Felicity.

{Spoiler}I don't know if Oliver would be that tearful about Captain Lance like that, though I do think his reaction is understated for Thea, Felicity, Laurel, or Diggle. I guess Lance could always do something to sacrifice himself for Ollie and Laurel. Or maybe he deals a significant blow to H.I.V.E. on the way out.
I guess we'll see what happens in six months' time. I love how interconnected both Flash and Arrow are with their stories with some little references here and there to each other, as well as other parts of the DC Universe. I really hope that the Kord Industries truck in the beginning is a hint at Ted's Blue Beetle showing up. And there's been so many cute little hints to the Green Lantern. I also like the somewhat lighter direction they're taking with Oliver, and I think the transition from the Arrow to Green Arrow helps that.

Felicity was who they wanted you to think because she was in the scene right before it. When they did not show the name I thought it was the captain. I will be very surprised if it was someone else.

Anyone else notice that Amell is using his normal real life high pitched voice instead of the quieter brooding voice he used in the first 3 seasons?

Anyone else notice that Amell is using his normal real life high pitched voice instead of the quieter brooding voice he used in the first 3 seasons? Yeah, he sounds a lot more like "Flashback" Oliver now. This first episode was already better than the whole last season just by the tone shift alone. Hopefully the rest of season carries that tone, but with it's necessary and occasional moments of darkness. While I liked Ra's, he's already boring compared to Darhk. Darhk looks like he's gonna be a lot of fun, and Neal McDonough is pretty entertaining in a lot of what he does. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}It was a nice little surprise to see Barry at the end, even Oliver mentioning Zoom was cool. I feel like it's Thea's funeral. Oliver looked absolutely distraught (he didn't have to be in tears for that moment considering he's probably done enough crying prior), and while Barry doesn't know Thea very well (keep in mind he'll have a chance for that with the crossover episode(s)), it makes sense for him to be there for his close friend's sister's funeral. It could be Diggle, as it seems like his and Oliver's relationship will be pretty rocky this season. Oliver's behavior during the funeral scene could possibly mean that he regrets not reconciling with Diggle before his death. Barry being there would make sense as he's also good friends with Diggle. Also, Cisco and Caitlyn not being there makes as they're most likely aiding Barry with stopping Zoom (the reason why he's late to the funeral). No way it's Felicity. The shippers will boycott the show until they dump her in the Lazarus Pit.

I will say that I loved the change of tone compared to the past 3 seasons. It was pretty refreshing after last season's "everything is f***ed" tone and general broodiness.

Really enjoyed the first episode. Sets a lot of stuff in motion that could be good.

Considering his (non-)reaction to all those people being killed in the episode, and his interaction with Dahrk at the end of the ep, {Spoiler}Captain Lance is absolutely a dead man now. Calming talking to Dahrk after he had the DA and other city officials murdered condemned him, IMO.

Another great episode. The show feels like it did a complete 180 after season 3. Hopefully it can keep it up.
It's like they listened to the fans complaints.
Darhk is already more interesting than Ras We got Green Arrow We got the old Felicity back The show has a lighter tone and is better paced
And in this episode
We got Anarky Mayor Ollie might happen Sara's return began
And the biggest surprise of all... Ollies wig is gone!
Speaking of which, the flashbacks of people forced to work on the fields immediately reminded me of Green Arrow: Year One.

RIP Stephen Amell's terrible wig. You will not be missed.
If I have any complaints about the episode, I felt a little bit of déjà vu the way Ollie was trying to get Thea to rein in the brutality from when he did the same thing with Roy.
That said, I get that the consequences of the Lazarus Pit need to be established for the upcoming Sara storyline.

Really good episode. I think Amell using his normal speaking voice for Oliver instead of pseudo-Batvoice is a really nice way of showing how Green Arrow will be different from the Arrow in terms of personality and what he represents. I also love the snarky commentary from Cisco on The Flash about the corniness of putting colors in superhero aliases.

I also love the snarky commentary from Cisco on The Flash about the corniness of putting colors in superhero aliases. Even though he's a huge fan of the Black Canary.

Nyssa continues to be Nyssa, which means she's Nyssawesome.
Can not wait for her to pop up in more episodes and kill Malcolm, she has to.
