I get it you guys are smarks, but is there really a reason to be chanting "fire Corbin" during the women's match?
It's fun to chant semi witty things to show that you "get it," but there comes a point where chanting becomes a distraction from what is going on in the ring. I feel like the NXT crowd is slightly crossing that line.

I miss the Brooklyn crowd.

I've been watching NXT full time for a while now. I can't seem to remember many instances of the crowd in Full Sail just being GOOD. I've heard them be ridiculously dead and quiet (which is horrible to watch), and I've seen them go in to insanely overactive chanting mode with no idea when it's time to shut the f*** up.
The Brooklyn crowd was killer. I need more of that. I hope London delivers the same way.

Yeah, they should sit down and shut up so we can enjoy the show.

Sometimes they get too cute for their own good but the look and sound of an audience having fun on WWE's watch is always welcome.

Our fans over here are generally of the Chicago/Brooklyn type. Hot for everything, mostly respectful. Though there is a tendency for the "We are awesome" which I hate. I could be wrong but I think the UK crowd invented the John Cena sucks chant to his music. Point being we have ability to be creative but hopefully not overbearing assholes! Time will tell though!

In a night that gave us 'Save The Gable', I can't complain about Full Sail for anything.

I prefer the Full-Sail crowd to the quiet, un-engaged crowds we usually see in WWE. A crowd is so important and the Full-Sail crowd helps me get into the show.

As was said, it was IRON WOMAN they were chanting. For the most part Full Sail is tolerable but lately no. That was the best in probably 3 months.

Pretty much. First place I heard it was post-Mania 30 Raw, and you only needed to listen to the football chants during Barrett's match to know how many of that crowd were Brits. It's crazy how influential the post-Mania Raw crowd has become. For instance, if they hadn't chosen to chant 'you look stupid' at Sheamus this year, his matches would probably take place in near-silence depending on the opponent.

I always ignore the crowd and focus on the action in the ring.
Why can't others do the same?

The only thing that grates on me is that so many of the chants have the exact same cadence. I'm gonna start having nightmares where it's a normal day but every time someone speaks to me it will come out in that pattern: "GOOD MOR-NING JAY *CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP*, HOW'S YOUR GIRL-FRIEND? *CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP* BOSS IS AN-GRY *CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP* KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN *CLAP CLAP CLAPCLAPCLAP*" Switch it up people, please.

I can understand when people get upset at fans doing stupid things to spite the wrestling. But this recent hypersensitivity here to fans being loud and passionate about the wrestling is something I'll never understand.
Plus I can never get a straight answer explaining their stance, they usually just complain about crowds chanting "we are awesome" like it's some huge crime.

Plus I can never get a straight answer explaining their stance, they usually just complain about crowds chanting "we are awesome" like it's some huge crime. I was one of the people in the NXT Takeover thread who was most vocal in my negativity directed toward the Full Sail crowd for their incessant chanting and I stand by every word I said. And this counterpoint that "OH WOULD YOU RATHER THE CROWD BE DEAD SILENT?" is ridiculous. It's not a black-and-white argument. Of course I'd rather a crowd be lively and energetic rather than dull and silent, but at the same time what does insipid chanting truly accomplish? A good round of applause or a roar from the audience goes so much further in showing your appreciation for the performers in front of you than coming up with a three- or four-syllable phrase and chanting it. Sure, there were plenty of clever chants at NXT Takeover, but there were also large portions of the main event I had to watch on mute because I couldn't take the crowds response of "CHANT FOR 30 SECONDS/silence for 10 seconds as we come up with a new chant/CHANT FOR 30 SECONDS/silence for 10 seconds as we come up with a new chant/CHANT FOR 30 SECONDS."

I have to research, but I could swear I saw a cell phone video from a Central or South American show a few years back where they were chanting along with the Cena entrance. So just to nitpick, if that's true then London didn't invent it. But for all intents and purposes, that's where it was brought to prominence, so thanks are still owed for that.

That chant goes back almost a decade. Like you said, I remember seeing a grainy YouTube video from an international house show in which the fans chanted it and that was in the summer of 2006 (I remember it because I tried to get the chant going at SummerSlam 2006).
