I have a feeling that they are going g to bury the shit out of both Rusev and Lana over this. Making their engagement public in the middle of a storyline is ill-advised when an engagement was part of the storyline. I wouldn't want to be Rusev & Lana right now. Either that or Vince is delighted because MAINSTREAM PRESS (!) and they'll both get a huge push out of it.

But even then, it doesn't really matter. Rusev's position on the card had already dropped so far after losing at WrestleMania that he has nothing to lose and Lana's still out with her injury. Unless WWE goes crazy and fires them, there's nothing they can do to "punish" either of them.

I love the idea of Lana turning down his proposal because of their ongoing storyline.
Or Lana's mother asking why he hasn't proposed and he replies because they don't like each other on TV.

It should've been saved for WrestleMania. Rusev and Lana could have rehashed the reunion of Randy Savage and Elizabeth! RuRu: Lana-bit... Lana-bit... Will... You... Married... Me? Lana: Ohhhhh machka!

This goes into the territory of WWE wanting to have its cake and eat it to if they want to "punish" Rusev for having the news come out. A fine line needs to be drawn between character and real life. If this goes into an angle they could work with fine but hopefully they don't go the route of Kayfabe still existing you know better etc etc.

I'm not rejoicing because they outright robbed us of an awesome Wrestlemania reunion moment.

It's only important to WWE because they chose to acknowledge it. They don't make a big scene about Dean Ambrose and Renee Young dating or Cody Rhodes and Eden being married, yet Rusev and Lana being engaged throws everything off? It's stupidity.

This isn't Duggan and Shiek getting caught smoking on the road anymore. This is prior knowledge to a lot of people in the same way people know Darren Young is gay but they don't put it apart of his character to much. I believe he actually made a joke about liking the rainbow and it wasn't acknowledged. If this does become a heat thing than I would assume it's an "old timer" getting upset and wanting teach young guy a lesson.

Because this storyline killed Lana, and exposed her as limited. Meanwhile, Summer has been gold with RuRu. I'm sad, I hope he takes them both.

Who cares what happens on the internet. WWE has always done their own thing, they are the least realistic major promotion there ever was. For once, they should have continued being who they are and ignored the whole thing. Everybody knows wrestling is not real now and they still watch the shows, right.
It's terrible, we can't even get the on-screen reunion like it should have happened.

I'm just rejoicing because it looks like it killed what might be the worst WWE feud of the year. Good god this was BAD.

I think TMZ broke the story of their engagement the same way they're the first to have the breaking news of who's the newest indictee into the WWE Hall of Fame. A video from someone in Titan Towers in Stamford, Connecticut.

They never should have split them up in the first place.

They chose to be in the pro wrestling business. It is a different world, but afforded them an awesome life traveling the globe? Pro wrestling is pro wrestling and they are fully aware how things operate. They enjoy that life and want to become more successful? Don't plaster your engagement all over social media and have it end up on freaking TMZ when you are in the middle of an angle where you hate each other. Everyone has to make sacrifices in life. Suck it up. Wait until this angle is over to get engaged. That just seems like common sense. Kayfabe has no place in the world these days. It just doesn't. Everyone watching knows it's fake, no one who is watching takes issue with that, and WWE blatantly exposes it as fake constantly with them doing things like inter-cutting scenes of evil, self-absorbed assholes talking about how much they love the troops or doing the, "I'm leaning on the fourth wall and saying you kissed ass or whored yourself out to get to the top!" shtick on a weekly basis. Plus, I mean, even Total Divas outright comes out and admits everything is scripted and talks about their reactions to angles they're put in and stuff. Hey, that's why they fired Courtney Cox from Friends when she got married to David Arquette despite having an on-screen relationship with Matthew Perry. Oh wait, no they didn't.

I assumed after Monday that they were on the shit list given The Ryback beat him clean. Now on facebook I see WWE is posting the tmz video on their page and trying to kayfabe it as a shocking twist. So I have no idea which way they're going.

I maintain that the way to develop Lana and Rusev would have been for Lana to create an international stable of super athletes.
Imagine Lana with a stable of Rusev, Barrett and Cesaro. Would have been awesome.
A breakup storyline should not have been used because once it's done, you really have nowhere else to go, especially if it's two heels.

Rusev tied the knot all right. Into a noose! WILL YOU STOP?!!! This reminds me about one of the funniest moments of the Match made in heaven. It the reception, Savage is greeting and here is Heenan walking in his head down like a funeral. Savage, not missing a beat, goes: "I feel sorry for you too brother. CAN SOMEBODY SHOW THIS MAN THE EXIT?"
