The original idea for NWO was that WWE sent Hall and Nash to sabotage WCW.
Do you think that the idea of WWE sending wrestlers to sabotage nxt would work?

The only way it could work is if you took a bunch of lower-end guys who never got to be "the present" and who are angry that the future is being groomed right in front of them. Problem is, you then have to delve into the idea that WWE has squandered roughly a decade's worth of talent and that the glass ceiling for most of the roster has been abysmally low. And there's no way WWE is going to own up to the failings of its star-making attempts.

NXT would need established heroes to counter the group. At the end of the day, everyone's goal is still to leave NXT for the main roster and there's not exactly any official "NXT guy" like Sting was to WCW

The thing is ever time somebody tired another NWO story ( every NWO reboot) or rip off ( Aces and 8's) it failed miserably. The original was lighting in a bottle. I just don't see it ever working again.

The nWo worked because of the "realism" element that nobody was sure what the hell was going on. WWE sabotaging their own developmental facility doesn't makes sense. You could say that wrestlers did it of their own accord because of how great everyone says NXT is but it's basically just internet nerdzzz like us who love NXT so it's not really something they'd get worked up about.
Guys n gals from Raw showing up just to challenge NXT people could still be cool though minus the "invasion" style part of it.

It was the basis of Tyson Kidd's heel run, and his short re-teaming with Justin Gabriel. And even though they never directly stated it, it's what was supposed to make Alex Riley a sympathetic figure during his feud with Owens...if only they didn't have him be a shitty douchey heel-ish commentator for a year and a half.

Working relationship with NJPW.
Bullet Club gets booked in NXT & starts really bullying and laying out dudes left and right. Regal books Balor in a big match to stop them, BOOM megaswerve, Balor turns heels.
Basically presents an opportunity to get someone like Crews or whomever they feel can handle it over big time - provided they do a better ending to the nWo angle than WCW did.
Have it be Crews vs Balor. If Crews wins the Bullet Club is gone from NXT. Stuff like that.
But an actual "invasion" type storyline - that's a non-starter these days.

Only way I could see it is if it were three established trying to stop those in NXT because they don't want to lose the power they have on the roster, having seen how that could happen.
Sadly this means my idea for this nWo like stable would be Sheamus, Orton and Heel Cena, so not a lot would like that.

I can only see this working one way...
Against Bayley and the NXT divas. People have been wanting to see if the main roster girls can keep up with the new generation or just sandbag it. Without the bane of main roster booking, we'd get to see if that theory is just a theory or something real.
The last thing the guys need is an invasion angle though. Or any major angle like that.

Bellas, Eva Marie, Tamina and Cameron as invaders, attacking the NXT mainstays (Bayley, Asuka, Carmella, Billie, Peyton, even heels Alexa, Dana and Emma), could become an interesting faction storyline DONE RIGHT (NXT booking) Meanwhile, the main roster consists of Nattie, Paige, Naomi, Sasha, Becky, Charlotte, Alicia and Summer (Lana too?) so it's all good

No.
Just send WAY BARRAH back down and have him proclaim himself King of NXT, and maybe eventually build himself a Nexus out of it.
Maybe.

On the contrary, I think a better way to work that NWO group would be if it's the part-time performers that are there as legends- guys like Chris Jericho or RVD, people who are allegedly on the verge of resigning with some name value (Alberto Del Rio, Carlito), maybe even people who want to go part-time like Randy Orton. That way, it's still big-name performers who'd be a huge deal, and actually uses the part-timers in a more satisfying position than they could get on Raw.

Only way I could see it working is like a reverse Nexus, you get a group of guys instead of being pissed off at being treated like rookies are pissed off they have been sent down for whatever reason. Get one mad that he was forced down there to teach/mentor, one guy mad that his main roster job didn't go as planned, maybe one sent down for attitude reasons and so on. You could not do invaders taking over because Vince told them to because it'd make absolutely no sense for him to sabotage his own company (and that is with his history doing that in kayfabe). Even if you did a working relationship with a company (I'll use EVOLVE since they actually have one), you could not really put the outside talent over strong enough to make it work since that would have to come at the expense of your contracted talent.
