I was just thinking about the big lug and figured I'd start a thread.
I'll kick things off with "my daddy, my daddy! WAAAAH!!!"

'With the deepest regrets, and tears that are soaked I'm sorry to hear that your dad finally croaked He lived a full life on his own terms Soon he'll be buried and eaten by worms But if I could have a son as stupid as you I'd have wished for cancer so I would die too So be brave, and be strong, get your life on track 'Cause the old bastard's DEAD and he ain't never comin' back!'

His return to the WWE is when I knew they were going to win the Monday night war.
They didn't wink about how this guy wouldn't be appearing on some OTHER show, or feign surprise, "But that's Ray Traylor! He doesn't work here!!" No, it was just The Big Bossman. He's an evil cop. It was such a relief to just have fun watching the evil cop relish being an evil cop.

I'll admit, when Nailz jumped the ramp and started wailing on him, my childhood self thought it was legit.

I loved that before the poem, he said, "How dare you start the grieving process without me? I have feelings too?" It's a shame that they turn the angle into comedy, Big Show said that it was because Bossman started receiving death threats. Bossman could've been a main event heel after this program. Cornette once told a funny story, that in the scaffold match between the Road Warriors and The Midnight Express, Big Bubba Rogers (Bossman) was supposed to catch him, but the lights blinded him and he missed Cornette, who f***ed up both of his knees.

The cage match with Hogan with that old school blue cage. Remember watching that match as a kid and being really invested in it.

Nailz, I'm kicking your ass!
"Ass" was bleeped in that promo, and at 9 years old in cartoon-era WWF, that was heavy stuff.

I remember an old shoot Terri Runnels shoot from Highspots, and apparently she was super close with the Big Bossman, he even walked her to the altar for her second wedding, she got very emotional talking about him and how she still talked to his family.

Him driving off with the coffin with Big Show hanging off it is one of the funniest visuals of all time.

My cousin and I fought over NWA/WWF a lot.

I love the story Ric Flair recently told about him on his podcast, about how Bossman (then Bubba) was irritated with Ronnie Garvin for working so snug with him, so Flair told him to just hit him in the mouth. I lol'd hard.

From one of the Cornette shoots, they mentioned how in one of his early runs in JCP, Dusty Rhodes asked the prop guy to rig a chair to shatter on impact with Big Bubba's head, and then Big Bubba would "sell" by straightening his tie. So, they did the spot, Bubba adjusted the tie, and after it was over, Dusty came to the back and told the guy, "Great job, that chair exploded!" The prop guy's response: "Oh, s---, I totally forgot about rigging that chair, Dream!"

I lol'd hard. Flair impersonating Bossman's high pitched voice is what made it. "Thanks Thanks that worked". I was surprised to hear Bischoff put him over so much, saying how much he liked Ray. You would think that he would've actually gave him more of a push if he thought so highly of him instead of booking him at a lower midcard level other then the first year in which he just jobbed to Vader all the time. Other then a surprising clean win over Sting on PPV, Bossman really did nothing there. Another story I liked from the Flair podcast is the scaffold one with him not being able to catch Cornette. "I'm sorry Jimmy, you fell so fast".

Aside from the golden memories of '99 and his feud with Nailz. I always remember him getting sprayed in the face with some green paint during a match with Doink, for some reason it terrified me as a child.

Since I lived most of my life in the county right next to Cobb County, I was fortunate enough to meet him several times over the course of my life. He was ALWAYS a class act. Never an unkind word, always super nice around kids so they wouldn't be intimidated by his size, and just really nice, personable, great to talk to.
