That infamous night lita was beaten to a pulp by Austin and HHH, the crowd was silent while me and my friend laughed and cheered in the back row.
We had this crazy idea that wrestling was fake and they were just acting...

In retrospect, the crowd during the Smackdown with the Billy & Chuck wedding
"We're going to give our vows and join in commitment!"
"BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
"Whoa, whoa, hold on, we're not really gay!"
*loud, relieved-sounding pop*

Chanting you F'ed up, especially when the full sail crowd does it. There are kids there, chanting that is asinine anyway.

We've got nothing against gay people..." *crowd still cheering Taz - "Lotta gay people here!"

On Wrestlecrap, I had noticed some cringe-worthy signs that people had when Sable was the top woman in the WWF, with such sexually graphic things written on there. I was like, "SERIOUSLY?!"

Not uncomfortable buy when dickhead try and get themselves over during the WWE Hall of fame ceremony.
Usually I'm all up for having fun, but whether you agree with an induction or not. Take your sparky bullshit elsewhere as it has no business here.

Telling a little kid that John Cena sucks and bragging about it on the internet (Yes, I've seen that before) doesn't make you funny it makes you sad. This reminds me of one my proudest moments of being a fan. A couple of weeks after '18 seconds' I went to a house show which was main evented by Sheamus defending against Daniel Bryan. I did the 'YES' in D-Bry's entrance (as did a few others) but I had about 5 or 6 kids in the row ahead of me who all gave me death stares so I thought I could have fun with this. I duel chanted Daniel Bryan with Let's go Sheamus with them and a kid about 3 rows back told me to shut up which got a good laugh in the section. In the end Sheamus won with the Brogue kick as you'd expect, the kids went crazy and gloated at me while I feigned my devastation. A couple of the parents gave me a knowing nod and smile and overall it was just a very enjoyable moment for me.

I'm sure you're aware of Daniel Bryan's history but you didn't have to get yourself over with a "Bryan Danielson" chant or anything like that. A lot of "smart marks" are quite happy to turn to a kid and tell him/her "Cena sucks" though and that just seems heartbreaking to me. I wasn't a wrestling fan as a kid but I was a fan of a sports team from a rival city (About an hour away) and I remember being so bummed when my friends would make fun of my team as a 8-9 year old. I couldn't imagine a grown man doing the same thing.

It wasn't that it made me uncomfortable but I couldn't help but be embarrassed since my missus was with me at a Smackdown house show when a large group of audience members chanted she's a crack whore at Melina. That's one of my favourite chants in wrestling. Melina's character was that of a whore, sleeping with Batista so he goes easy on MNM one time. So I think she was fair game.

Worst I've seen were the "Eddie, mow my lawn" signs when Eddie Guerrero first came to the WWF. It's funny, because when Eddie wrestled for WCW, I never saw a single sign like that. Did the WWF go to KKK territory when it signed Eddie Guerrero?

I think it's good to get a reminder of why no one takes wrestling seriously and why the stereotype of the wrestling fans as fat, pathetic, socially inept, bigoted white trash virgins without a braincell between any of them is still valid, no matter how much us so-called "smart" fans try to tell ourselves otherwise.

An experiment in dubious crowds: See Harlem Heat vs. the Steiners at Hog Wild 96 and watch yourself get increasingly uncomfortable as it becomes clear Booker and Stevie are the biggest heels on the show... and likely not for the right reasons.

Surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet, but the crowd during the Trish bark like a dog segment. Here you have a woman being degraded on national TV and all the crowd could think to do was "WHOOOOOOOOOO! TITS AND ASS!"

In '97 the crowd started to chant F** at HBK, and there was even a sign calling him that, that the WWE panned too.

What about the infamous Rip Rogers vs Owen Hart from early 90's WCW with Owen happily cheerleading the crowd in a "Faggot! Faggot!" chant, just so weird to watch now and in this case it's not just the fans making it uncomfortable. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjWc1AFWT3g

That time Bubba Ray Dudley powerbombed Mae Young through a table. Yes, I am aware of the whole story-that he was actually hesitant to do it and she slapped him in the face and told him to grow a set. But the way the audience went bonkers for the imagery of that was just a tad unsettling to me, even back then. Kind of showed how bloodthirsty the audience was at the time. Yep. Womenbeaters = babyfaces. Attitude Era!
