They didn't mind her the one or two times she was there before, though those were in a strictly managerial role so it could be different now.

I don't understand WWE's need to try and turn people into something they're not instead of just playing to their strengths. Lana was great in a managerial role, why does she need to wrestle?

To be fair, most managers can at least bump and do some basic stuff. Plus I think it was Lana who pushed to learn.

If she takes to it, she could be the best in the division in due time. She's been such a great character performer alongside Rusev, so she's already got most of the girls beat in that department.

All the best to her. Still intrigued by the old-school element of having an American (albeit one who spent a lot of her childhood in Latvia) playing a Russian in the great tradition of Nikita Koloff, Krusher Khruschev, Soldat Ustinov and Boris Zhukov.

Just hope they utilize her strengths still and she doesn't get lost in the random 6 diva tag every week purgatory.

Maybe she'll put pants on now when brawling on the ground.

Yes but she was getting payments from the WWE over Eddie Guererros death before she was a onscreen character and continues to be supported by the WWE to this day. Outside of a widow of a beloved wrestler or anyone part the WWE creative team (Paul Heyman, Great Khali's manager) there hasn't been anyone since the 80's or early 90's with a decent lengthy career as a manager.

She was also only a manager for portions of it, and spent a lot of the time as an onscreen authority figure. Which, granted, Lana would probably do well, anyway, but still.

I don't understand WWE's need to try and turn people into something they're not instead of just playing to their strengths. Lana was great in a managerial role, why does she need to wrestle? Why does your boss want to promote you to a new position? Not only are you good at what you do now, but maybe you could be just as good or better at the next level. Maybe it's not the best way to phrase it, but even though she's a great manager, maybe she also has the tool set to be a great wrestler, she just needs training.
