Okay, so you have to admit he was awesome upon his debut.
It just didn't fit in anywhere on Raw, but boy, he made it work. The Lita stuff interesting. His feud with Kane. He loves feet. It wasn't his fault. The tag team that never was with Heidenrich. And so on.

I consider Gene Snitsky high art as far as wrestling goes. How Snitsky appeared as just a local jobber and ends up killing Lita's baby, and is the heel against known rapist Kane is such a crazy space to find yourself creatively on a wrestling show. Everything about Snitsky until they genericized him was great, the fact that his theme music started with a clip of him reminding us that the death of Lita's baby wasn't his fault, even though he eventually just started embracing that he killed it anyways, generally becomes apparent that whether he meant to or not he's just the kind of creep who might as well kill babies for fun. The foot fetish thing, the poem where he eloquently says "it wasn't my fault, you have a dead baby, in your u-ter-us." He was the best "so bad it's good" thing in wrestling.

The promo he did with Heidenreich was legitimately creepiest thing I've ever seen in wrestling.

Snitsky baffles me so much because I can't entirely tell what his support qualifies as due to being unsure exactly what his, well, everything falls under. Is it unintentional comedy? Intentional comedy taken as it is? Unintentional comedy found within intentional comedy misfiring severely?

I love all things Snitsky. Freak of nature, make 'em hate ya, not one girl will ever date ya. They deliberately messed up his character for his ECW run, but hey, IT WASNT HIS FAULT.

Before they turned him into his boring bald ECW self, he was just this specimen of amazingly bizarre weirdness. It's fun to have a guy or two like that on a roster.

Should've left him as the awkward Raw guy with one exception, he wins the ECW title and feuds with CM Punk.

If you really like Gene, he's on Colt's podcast this week. Colt really sells how odd he is. It's an interesting listen.

I remember when this forum had a high fever of Gene Snitsky. One of out four WWE threads were about Gene. Between him, Dennis Stamp or Luger's CSWF promo, I DON'T KNOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWW what was more universally loved.

We all owe him a small debt of gratitude for being the guy to kill off one of the worst storylines they've ever had on Raw. Plus he tried to sell me a baby doll once.

Isn't he a host on some cooking show now? Yes, and if you burn your food, it isn't his fault.

I wonder what happened to the baby he punted into the crowd?
Did the person who caught it keep the doll? Is it a treasured memento that takes pride and place on their mantelpiece? Do they take it around minor wrestling fan conventions? Is it in a museum? Was it given to a younger relative who doesn't know what they possess? Does it come to life when humans aren't around? Is it the big baby doll from Toy Story 3?
