The funny thing is Empire's director was the one that did Never Say Never Again And the film is now owned by the producers of the official Bond series.

Okay, this is just fans being pissed off at change for the sake of being pissed off at change. You can't seriously expect me to believe that the same fans who probably wanted George's head prior to Episode 7 suddenly are like "We want you back now, all is forgiven"? There is only 169 signatures, so obviously not a huge movement, just disgruntled Star Wars fans who would be upset regardless of the direction of the film. Probably the same ones who made countless YouTube videos about how "Revenge of the Sith" should have been. Personally, of all things why bring Lucas back to direct? His direction of acting is terrible. His writing of dialogue is not the strongest. The one thing is very good at is telling a story. Just rewatched Revenge of the Sith and it really was a great story, that would have been better with stronger acting from Hayden Christensen and better dialogue at points, but a well told story nonetheless. I thought "The Force Awakens" was pretty good and so did most people I know that watched the film. You can never make all of the angry internet fans happy, it's impossible. These are just people that live to complain and crap on people's work. The problem with it, is due to forums like this and others is it will cause negative opinions to spread like wildfire and becoming popular opinion. Just thinking back to fans reactions after "Revenge of the Sith", most liked it quite a bit and it got good reviews. Then blogs and YouTube videos came out trashing it and now we are to the point where it is cannon fodder to massive amounts of nerd rage.

World building and effects sure... but directing not so much...

You'd never get Star Trek fans demanding the return of Rick Berman.

Hey Kylo! Vader turned face, you idiot. He knows, he sees that last second face turn as weakness. This is somebody who sees Han Solo as weak, Han freaking Solo. He idolizes the evilness of Vader, he idolizes the part of Vader that purged the Jedi, murdered children, had no problem with the destruction of Alderaan, and chopped Luke's hand off. The best summation of Kylo I've seen is that if he were real, he'd be a mass shooter. Was Gale Simone the first person to bring that up or someone else? It was her tweet I saw on that. It really is a decent comparison.

I blame Padme. She was evil too. Kylo inherited that from her. Anakin told her he had murdered children, and she just rolled her eyes and said "OK, Beru is cooking Bantha steaks for dinner. Do you want some mashed potatoes too?"

You'd never get Star Trek fans demanding the return of Rick Berman. But I want resolution to Future Guy DAMNIT!!! I blame Padme. She was evil too. Kylo inherited that from her. Anakin told her he had murdered children, and she just rolled her eyes and said "OK, Beru is cooking Bantha steaks for dinner. Do you want some mashed potatoes too?" I always compared her relationship to Anakin as like one of those woman who propose to death row inmates.

For all of the "The Force Awakens is too similar to A New Hope!" criticisms out there, I don't see George Lucas doing much different were he to direct. The dialogue would've been corny as f***, the characters wouldn't be anywhere near as memorable, and it'd look pretty similar to the prequels visually, but I bet Lucas would make the same movie.

Man...Kylo is gonna be pissed when he finds out he just got his ass handed to him by his hero reincarnated. Yup, I'm all aboard the Rey is Anakin Reincarnated train. Time to fully redeem himself. That's would also explain Rey's reaction touching Anakin's/Luke's lightsaber. Anything is better than him being Hayden Christensen's force ghost. On the topic, this is a thing. comicbook.com/2016/01/07/fans-launch-petition-to-bring-george-lucas-back-to-direct-star-w/Now wouldn't that be like disgruntled WWE fans petitioning Vince to have total control of EVERYTHING again, now? More like petitioning to bring back Vince Russo.

More like petitioning to bring back Vince Russo. Woah Woah Woah, let's not go too far here. They want George Lucas to direct the next Star Wars, not Frank Miller.

The Force Awakens definitely has more diversity going for it. Not just with finn and Rey, but the fact that we had female stormtroopers(Not just Phasma) and a female x-wing pilot(who has been fan ficed romantically with Rey a lot). Not just a female X-Wing pilot, but an Asian female X-Wing pilot. a British asian female pilot. ^_~ ..............at least her actress i s from Britain. Either way, she stood out to me when I first saw her on the screen.
