F*** off. What a way to end the year, eh?
Lemmy is not just one of my favorite metal artists, he's one of my favorite personalities as well. The guy had charisma pouring out of his ears. The dude just flat out kicked ass.
R.I.P. you legend.

I watched Decline of Western Civilization II a few weeks ago. I thought he came off very well in that.

I guess the bright side is that when I meet my maker, this band will be playing... But if I could be serious for a second (God knows that won't happen) lets take a moment to remember the cause Lemmy worked for... ) So obviously that was made by Troma and Trey Parker and Matt Stone played the hermaphrodites. But what the hell was that from?! I just love how Lemmy performed that with all the gravitas he could muster. Like he was Sting talking about the Amazon rainforest.

I want to say Tromeo and Julliet, but there is a nagging feeling that it might be from Terror Firmer.

I got into Metal at a fairly young age, but it took a long time for me to really get into Motorhead because I didn't think Lemmy was a good vocalist, especially in comparison to other guys I was discovering at the time like Bruce Dickenson, Hansi Kursch and Rob Halford. It wasn't until I got older and started hearing more diverse sounding singers that I could really come to appreciate that gravelly voice of his. Never my favorite band, but I've always loved this song:
Saddens me that this duet is never actually going to happen now...
*Raise glass*
Goodbye, Kill Master.
Fare thee well And raise some Hell

Ozzy's talking about it on Twitter. Still in disbelief: Fitting tribute, especially when you consider Lemmy co-wrote "See You on The Other Side" with Ozzy and Zak Wylde for the Ozzmosis album.

Favorite band of all time. I'm super bummed out about it. He played in my city in September but I found out about it a few days later and couldn't take work off. I figured it would be my last chance to see the guy perform live and unfortunately I was right. His music helped me get out of a deep depression. It may sound like incoherent mumbling to a lot of my colleagues, but his music really moved me. I've listened to just about all their albums, Orgasmatron being my favorite, and it's such a shame that he is gone.

First band I ever saw live and, even though I was never their biggest fan I saw them a few other times at festivals and they always put a shit load of effort into their concerts to make them as loud and fun as possible.
Lemmy was always a highlight. A born entertainer, very charismatic and always entertaining. The fact he carried on doing what he was doing until 70 and was still a top musician speaks volumes. He was a legend.

Sorry, third post in this thread, but this one hit home the hard, like Johnny Cash and Lux Interior from The Cramps. Something you get used to with age, but the memories are still there. Seems like ages ago, but I was in DC with my friend, and saw REO Speed Dealer, Nashville Pussy (the lady bass player almost set a kids face of fire) and Motorhead at the 3030. Good times abounds.

RIP Lemmy. He was truly one of a kind and deserving of the legendary status that was bestowed upon him.
I used to say Lemmy can't die and somehow it'd be very much like Lemmy to come out with that thick accent, cigarette hanging out, a bottle of Jack, and a bass saying "Nah man, I can't f***ing die. I won't allow it!"

This was my post on all of my social media. Copying and pasting, so if something makes it past any filters, apologies, and I will edit.
"This man, this band, wrote the soundtrack to my adulthood. From nights jamming in my bedroom, to nights at the bar running around head banging like a lunatic to Overkill and Damage Case. Dropping everything last minute to go see Headcat with David at The Independent in San Francisco, where I got to see Lemmy sing Rock This Town. Nights at the Bow where I would bum a smoke off him( and once or twice where he bummed one from me.) One night where Christie gave me and him a ride home, sitting in the back seat with him in shotgun talking about the White Limo video, which is a memory I'll hold onto the rest of my life. One last time seeing them with Vex, fighting the crowd and "old age" to get as close to the stage as possible. Rest Well, Sir. You may not have had a direct or personal impact on my life like some of the people I've been lucky enough to have in my life, but the impact you did have was immense.
And anyone who calls for a moment of silence: bullshit. Everything louder than everything else. Drink whiskey, smoke cigarettes, crank the rock n f***ing roll. Make love to mountain lions, sleep on red hot branding irons. Go to heaven, go to hell, buy the farm and never sell."

You might not have known the name but you knew the music. From his work with WWE to Born to Raise Hell to Ace of Spades and many more, his work transcended genre. As a man and star he was second to none and his voice was a strange comfort to many. Enjoy whatever is next sir.

RIP Lemmy. I'll miss your distinctive voice. The metal world is a lesser place without you here.
