While some would claim that the buck really stops with the McMahons, I feel that the overscripting is Kevin Dunn's fault. The sooner he and the Creative team have been pensioned off and replaced by someone willing to give the in-ring characters a chance to reveal themselves, in their own manner of speaking, the better WWE's future will be.

I feel sorry for wrestlers when they have to fill their promos with buzzwords management has obviously instructed them to say. Some shit like "In this business, what matters most to the WWE Universe is the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, and in this very ring, I will become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and be the best sports-entertainer in the world" Impressive. You just cut down every Triple H promo to about 10 seconds.

Oh man, I remember Ken Patera was unintentionally hilarious in his verbosity and wooden acting. As a heel, he and Tony Atlas were doing feats of strength and Patera asked Atlas to blow into a hot water bottle until it popped as he had done earlier. Patera said (paraphrasing) "Now you can breathe into this hot water bottle and it will give us the opportunity to see how much hot air YOU have." It didn't help that he ranged from sounding either really mad or really relaxed in the same promos. "I am so....UPSET...."

Isn't this advice coming from Hall absolute bullshit when the Razor Ramon character was built on a terrible Al Pacino impression?

I think that's one of the things that annoys me about Reigns. You can tell he's preplanned it all in his head and is sticking to a script. He needs to be more casual. Alberto Del Rio seems to alternate. Sometimes, he'll cut a good promo and I'll quite enjoy it, but other times, he'll come off as boring and cardboard. Specifically during his face run and the "DESTINY" WHC chase. Yeah, sometimes he's pretty good. His promo with Cena actually had me rooting for Del Rio cos Cena just seemed like a sore loser. I was rooting for Del Rio for the first time with that promo..yeah he beat Cena fair and square. Yes Cena did have a rematch to use but the way he got it is like every other time Cena gets what he wants. He acts like a spoiled little brat and if he doesn't get what he wants he will belittle you and get you to put a title up even when you originally said no. In a way that is kind of staying true to his character of how he is the guy that runs things and he subconsciously manipulates everyone into doing it his way.

Roman Reigns and Dolph Ziggler.
Reigns has been tough to listen to recently. He just comes across as this forced badass pandering to the crowd. His promos with Vince and Steph made it real obvious. His "old man" burn on Vince and his "oooo" I'm scared sound made him come across like a wannabe 12 year old school rebel.
Dolph Ziggler has always been bad. Everything has always sounded forced and awkward. His days when he was a heel it was always "This is why I'm the best" "This is why I steal the show" every promo and then now as as face he makes bad jokes that even Cena and babyface Sheamus cringe.
