Once again the "whomever is wrestling now is the best" rears its ugly head.
I voted for Ivan Koloff. He is a former world champion and wrestled a very long time in the NWA after that.

I always associate Ivan Koloff most with his 80s run in JCP when he was in his 40s. I haven't seen any of him when he was young. He looks like a beast in that photo!
I voted for him. He beat Bruno.

The man who beat Bruno Sammartino cleanly to end his 2,803 day streak as WWWF World Heavyweight Champion. Seriously, what other (kayfabe) Russian in wrestling can claim something that big? Rusev threw a fish.

I'd say Lana has maybe the second or third best ass in this list.

To repeat my earlier post.
Rusev is Bulgarian and has never been billed that he was actually Russian.
Closest it came was "now residing in Moscow" the Bulgarian Brute Rusev.

Too bad Barry Darsow never got to do his Krusher Kruschev gimmick in WWF. I know he was supposed to be a turncoat American and not an actual Russian, but they didn't bring that up most of the time, so if you didn't know any better you'd see him with Ivan and Nikita and think, "Man, this guy isn't even trying to do a Russian accent."

Ivan Koloff. Rusev is the New Age Savage but Uncle Ivan was hero of Kremlin, Pride of USA, leader of The Russian Team and beat Bruno. Plus he gave us Nephew Nakita, the original New Age Savage.

Doesn't the Russian Nightmare Nikita Koloff count since the e owns nwa/wcw? He's pulled it off the best. "RUSSIAN SICKLE!" Dude was hands down the greatest 'Russian' ever. I randomly googled him one day to discover that he was really just some whitebread American from Minnesota. He LIVED his gimmick. He learned fluent Russian, adopted all sorts of stereotypical Russian mannerisms, he even refused to speak English in public, so much so that when he was in the hospital for injuries he refused to talk to nurses until an interpreter could stop by and communicate with him.

If you want to get technical, there's not a single Russian on that list. so by default I guess it goes to Anya from NXT

I didn't learn 'fluent Russian.' He learned some things to say during interviews. It's true that he used the accent when he was out in public. When Russian-speaking people came up to him and tried to talk to him in Russian, Nikita would say something like, "We need to speak English here."

Not only is Ivan Koloff the obvious answer, he's one of the biggest Hall of Fame omissions.
