Red Dwarf has wrapped filming for both XI and XII (so it'll be at least two years before they film again) and Craig quit Corrie, so I don't see any scheduling issues preventing him from coming back.
I wouldn't be surprised if BBC went with a younger host though.

Oh man I can't wait to see the kind of crazy shit the UK robot builders can do nowadays. But what I want to really see is how badass the house bots are gonna be with all the new advances.

"The classic automaton gladiatorial deathmatch showcase will be shot inside a custom-built "bullet proof" arena by Mentorn Scotland."
From a Wired article on the same subject. I assume they're making it bullet proof to make sure it's as strong as it can be and not because the robots are taking up arms this time round.

Yeah, I assume that's more for potential shrapnel than any likelihood of firearms.

Well yeah it better be bullet proof or damn near close to it. When they were taping the final season of the original Battlebots, during the heavyweight class' consolation rumble, Nightmare, a bot with a giant vertical disc weapon had one of its teeth broken off and it went flying through the roof of the battlebox and into the crowd(they cancelled the rest of the rumbles as a result). Point is, especially when spinning weapons are involved, sharp bits of metal and plastic(but usually metal) will go flying all over the damned place.

Well, I doubt the BBC will be bringing back the original host.

I want to believe that Sir Killalot grew up to become Fulgore from Killer Instinct but that's just me.

Oh man, this was perfect Friday night viewing for twenty something me. Entertaining, comical, genuinely impressive feats of engineering and Phillipa Forrester. <3
I loved the idea of someone investing a lot of time, money and effort into building a robot... only for it to be absolutely annihilated in thirty seconds! A welcome return.

What season/series did Chaos 2 win? That was my first exposure to Robot Wars. I think I also remember one robot which was basically a base with an umbrella frame attached, and each arm of it had a hammer or something on it.

Only 6 episodes?
Here's hoping Razer gets dragged out of retirement. Razer was a monster. the Brock Lesnar of Robot Wars.

From the title, I thought this was going to be another Madness War (III? IV?), before I read the parentheses. Now I'm kinda letdown.

The bigger injustice is the fact that the Robot was still considered as active despite it being placed over the pit and thus immobile. The Morgue lost against Firestorm for something similar why not Tornado. plus they came across as really unlikable, Diotior owning them in season five is one of my favourite moments.
