World of Warcraft. I know Blizzard did a lot to kill the game, but after Wraith of the Lich King the players turned on it in rabid droves. There's still a big fandom there in spite of how awful Warlords of Draenor was. But yeah, the game's userbase peaked at Wrath. We'll see how Legion does because it looks like it's ramping up on the epic stuff and artifact weapons look like a lot of fun. There's also the movie coming out. And agreed with everyone on Drawn Together. What a garbage show. Yeah it's not dead... but it's userbase has dropped a lot recently.

The FirePro community is all but extinct save for a literal handful of creators and the guys who use it for eFeds. Between S and Returns' US release there was aton of boards and people creating. I remember there being a slight revival when Returns arrived on the PSN Store for PS3 and it made using other people's creations insanely easy (all you needed was a flash drive, no more flagging down and paying $80-100 for a complete PS2 Action Replay). But that also petered out pretty quick.

Perfect time to release this expensive big-screen blockbuster movie then!

Monday Night Combat It was the hot new shooter, creative , unique, lots of players. Then they released a free to play sequel trying to copy games such as Dota and Lol on its format, aaaaand the fandom died. Good call. Pissed I never got to try it. People have been saying that the new Blizzard shooter Overwatch reminds them alot of MNC, either that or Splatoon can't remember. On an unrelated note: The online community for Marvel vs Capcom 2 version on PS3 and Xbox 360 died super fast. Which is weird because alot of people wanted it to be released on those consoles and the online play for the game was supposed to be this revolutionary thing. Grass isn't greener?

Thankfully, Drawn Together. A number of people enjoyed it when it first came out immensely and it seemed to be in as high regard as South Park or The Simpsons. Then after more seasons Captain Hero took up a bulk of screentime, and Clara became obnoxiously cruel. The final nail in the coffin was their long-awaited movie that ended up being terrible, with virtually no one defending it. I didn't watch past the first few episodes, so I'm glad this rotten farce of a show eventually got canned. To me it only did as well as it did because it was parodying Reality TV which widely hated on the Internet at the time. Only thing the show had going for it was Clara and Foxxy being hot. Shame they couldn't have had better writers handle them. Never watched the movie (didn't know there was one) but I Actually have a soft spot for the show. Captain Hero being drawn in a parody of the DCAU style was a thing that I liked. And I actually liked Clara for what she was, "an evil bitchy Disney princess".

Yeah it's not dead... but it's userbase has dropped a lot recently. Perfect time to release this expensive big-screen blockbuster movie then! Its still the #4 highest earning PC title, and made 814 million in 2015. It didn't make 1 billion, but its not like its fallen off the face of the earth.

SEGA has probably been the best of the Japanese publishers over the last couple of years. Their only massive failure was Sonic Boom and they're generally trying to put out well supported products.

The big thing that hurt Returns is that it was only made avaliable on the US store instead of actually being avaliable in PAL territories which cuts out a fair chunk of the market.

So in this thread somebody mentions Gaga, and today it's announced that Lady Gaga is singing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.

I said her mainstream popularity all-but died around ARTPOP, but has since been rising again slowly. She's talented as hell and deserves her loyal fanbase but I think "mainstream" is sick of her. She was overexposed and came off as pretentious and fake (near the end). I don't think the public is ready for GagaMania again, but I wouldn't mind being proven wrong.

Agree to disagree I guess. It's all subjective after all. I will post a few things that I've read (most since this thread got me thinking about it) though: -- www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/18/middlebrow-lady-gaga_n_6708638.html-- www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/03/18/lady-gaga_n_4978752.html-- nypost.com/2013/12/14/what-happened-to-lady-gaga/Again, I actually like her, but (to me at least) there's no denying that her fame went off the rails and has yet to bounce back.

Not dead yet, but I've witnessed the Steam Powered Giraffe fandom lose their collective shit and nearly commit figurative suicide over the stupidest stuff, like off-color jokes and personal religious views, several times now. For a fandom that bills themselves as a 'fan-mily', they're prob'ly the craziest and most drama-prone out there.

I never would have thought that a bunch of steampunk obsessed nerds would end up being massive children.
