I'm not. I'm sick and tired of the O.J. case. He's in jail, that's all that matters.

I am. Liking it so far, except I can't take Ross Gellar seriously in this.

When I put this cap on I'm not OJ Simpson. I'm just Johnny Cochran in a hat.

This show is getting more ad breaks than RAW.

I watched shitloads of that trial when I was a kid. I had to. My mom wouldn't change the channel. Hours and hours of it. OJ was as guilty as shit, but as soon as those Furmann tapes were heard, that was the end of the trial. They could have had videotape of OJ actually stabbing both victims and that jury would still have thought he was framed by racist cops.

I still find myself watching documentaries and excerpts from the trial from time to time. My opinion, I don't believe OJ did it, although I do believe he knows who did it and is afraid to point fingers given the circumstances.
With that said, I am somewhat curious about this particular show. However, I am in no rush to see it. They couldn't have casted an actor who at least looks like OJ? I mean Cuba looks nothing like him.

OJ was as guilty as shit, but as soon as those Furmann tapes were heard, that was the end of the trial. They could have had videotape of OJ actually stabbing both victims and that jury would still have thought he was framed by racist cops. As sick as this sounds, I had to hear so much about that damn trial from it being on TV all the time. My family would eat dinner and the TV in the next room would be on trial coverage. So I actually began rooting for the defense out of spite from overexposure of the trial and everyone talking about how they want OJ to hang. Didn't care if he did it or not, I'd root for the juice. Keep in mind I was twelve when the criminal trial concluded. So that should tell you something about my maturity level at the time. When this case happened I'd ask adults why this case was such a big deal. And they'd tell me because OJ was a celebrity. Now you have trials that get sensationalistic coverage when everyone involved weren't celebrities beforehand. But now thanks to the Nancy Graces of the world we have a criminal justice celebrity culture that is just f***ing toxic!

The best coverage of that trial IMO was the Howard Stern show. He would send out his guy to interview people in New York and you'd get the most repulsive feedback imaginable, most of which blamed OJ's ex wife for either exaggerating the beatings he gave her, or outright justifying that a man sometimes needs to beat his wife. Stern basically thought this warped mindset would be shared by the jury, and I think he was right. The fact it took the jury such a relatively short period of time to come back with a verdict pretty much proved they didn't give two shits about any scientific evidence, much of which they probably wouldn't have understood at all.

I liked the first episode. Even 20 years later that whole circus is still fascinating to me.

Excellent premiere episode, a sharp cast for sure. I'm not feeling Cuba Gooding Jr. as OJ though. Travolta as Robert Shapiro and Sarah Paulson as Marcia Clark were excellent casting choices. I was five years old when this OJ trial started, so I do not remember the media frenzy this case brought. Only thing I do remember is being mad that OJ's Bronco chase interrupted Game 5 of the NBA Finals.

The OJ trial foreshadowed the darkness the Kardashian family would eventually bring upon the world.

You gotta remember things like, his blood wasn't there. Oh, it was everywhere, but because the cops f***ed it so bad, it wasn't admissible. It wasn't like the jury ignored it, it wasn't there as far as the law is concerned. There's more, but that's the big one, jury came back with the right verdict, even if he totally did it.

So far so good. Travolta is underrated as an actor IMO, I don't know if he's still getting heat for Battlefield Earth or not but he's impressive as Robert Shapiro, as is Courtney B. Vance as Cochran.

It's so weird not being an American Football fan. My only exposure of the guy is in the Naked Gun films.
