Damn man, that's terrible. Heroin is a vicious drug, and I've lost a few friends to very similar circumstances. Hopefully his family can find peace.

I worked with the homeless community for many years and I feel your pain. The way Axl died is not uncommon amongst the addicts. Fans will certainly miss him and maybe think "why couldn't (insert promoter/agent/wrestler) help him..." but unfortunately, I learned, not everyone can be helped, before the addiction takes them from the world. Now we can only hope his death is a wake up to others in wrestling facing similar issues.

Now we can only hope his death is a wake up to others in wrestling facing similar issues. The thing is, Axl was clean for a long time. After the problems with his spine that left him unable to walk, I think he became suicidal and went back to using drugs only because he intended to end his time alive and wanted to go out in the most hedonistic way possible. The final message he uploaded on Twitter seemed very suicidal to me. If Axl did not have mobility problems and could live a normal life, I don't think he would have gone back to using heroin after kicking the habit and staying clean for as long as he has.
