I find it odd that they teased the move so many times, only for it to be kicked out of and no-sold so soon into his run. The Calf Crusher was pretty cool, and the ending and the match was pretty great, though.
I do see them giving another impact finisher to go along with the submission finisher.

I almost wonder if it's because Styles Clash looks too much like Cesaro's Neutralizer.

I can see why people are mad about this, but I don't think it's going to hurt AJ at all if the Styles Clash becomes just a signature move, rather than a finisher.

The move sucks a bag of dicks anyway, let them kill it so he can have something better like, I dunno, EVERYTHING else he does? I used to always shit on the Pele kick but even that would be a better finish.

I can't go for the idea that the Clash sucks; guess I've been watching too much NJPW the past few years, but I've grown to love the feeling that a Styles Clash means instant death.

That annoyed me too but that's how top guys in WWE work. *shrug* It sucks but I'm used to it with this company. They feel like finisher kickouts are the only way to produce drama which isn't even close to true but that's the mentality.
At least it lead directly to the finish so it's not THAT bad. But yeah, pretty dumb somebody kicked out of the Clash this early on.
Also, the Styles Clash kicks ass. That's one of my favorite finishes ever. Sad to see people say it sucks, especially when the main alternative is the Calf Crusher which I'm not big on at all.

The crowd is starting to learn that a match isn't over until a finisher gets hit, and it's awful.

Well it will save us on threads about AJ almost killing people. Those are for Ryback and the Miz.

I do see them giving another impact finisher to go along with the submission finisher. In fact, because they respect his career so much, he's going to get two! The Overdrive and the pumphandle slam.

I guess his springboard forearm might fit that roll to a degree. Hasn't he pinned someone with that? I know it was sold as an upset when Miz kicked out of it.

He pinned Adam Rose with it on the Smackdown where he and Jericho pulled double duty by teaming up earlier in the show and wrestling each other in the main event.
