Don't sour this with making it a triple threat or 4 way. While the majority of us here are familiar with their history a lot of casual fans are not.
Only good things can happen between the two of them on the big stage in front of a fanbase that hasn't seen Generico v Steen

It's what most people here been begging for since Zayn & Owens got hired by WWE: A Wrestlemania match against each other. This something that would not happened 7 months ago but with a number of key players injured it is going to happen. Probably will be the only time they get a 1 on 1 match to happen on the biggest stage. I know they are mega hyped for this.

I've never seen them in a match before. I'm looking forward to it, though in typical WWE fashion they aren't getting much of a build.

El Generico vs. Kevin Steen was the feud that got me into independent wrestling. These two can feud forever and forever, as far as I'm concerned. Owens isn't feuding with Generico anymore, though. Its been a while since I've heard about that guy, wonder what he's doing nowadays.

WWE at least allowed Zayn to acknowledge their history.

Owens is the one that said that last part.

The issue is midcarders don't get mic time. Anyone who hasn't seen NXT is then just baffled. Well, they already announced they'll both be getting mic time on SmackDown.

So is this going on Wrestlemania or Alternate Timeline Wrestlemania/Roadblock?

Well, they already announced they'll both be getting mic time on SmackDown. Then they may as well have mic time on Impact. SmackDown's getting about two-thirds of RAW's current audience at the moment. That's not exactly the "nothing" we often mock them of being, and it's getting a bit unfair that we keep dismissing the show like that, because it's actually pretty decent more often than not (with the added benefit of better commentary). Hell, if Impact could get even half of SmackDown's audience, Dixie Carter would be doing backflips in her office/basement.

I don't expect it to be one on one but, if there was ever a feud that I could watch until the end of time, it's Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens.

I think that there are two types of fans in regard to this:
The fans who are familiar with the long history, have been watching it throughout the years, and are excited to have a big match on the grandest stage of them all.
The other type is the more casual viewer who are not familiar with their history, but are excited to have Owens face off against NXT Superstar Zayn at Wrestlemania.
Either way, it's a win-win that can satisfy different fan bases for different reasons.

I was joking to be fair, but WWE really seems to not care about Smackdown and most of what happens on it gets ignored.

I never saw anyone complain about all of those rematches involving Chris Benoit vs Chris Jericho in 2000/2001. By next year these guys are going to be in a tag team match.

NXT and the main roster are shown to have continuity. How does this feud not happen?

For what it's worth, I think it would be the funniest thing I've ever seen if Owens beat Sami again. He's beaten him twice, both times without even pinning him, just by killing him. If Owens just somehow powerbombed him to China and won by count out or something it would be f***ing incredible.
I'm not really a fan of Zayn, but the man needs to win.

Please tell me someone has a screencap of Owens' face when Sami's music hit. With where Neville's head is positioned, that could be a different kind of reaction shot altogether. More to the point... we've always asked WWE to have long-term stories that actually matter. Giving Zayn/Owens the MizTV trope is a good sign that they're honestly trying to sell this. My only complaint is that this seems to be a last minute decision. Zayn should have been around from the night after the Rumble.
