Only thing that bugged me was JBL's insistence that Trips knew Ambrose was under the ropes, that's why he didn't kick. Hate to defend JBL because he flat out sucks but I took it as generic heel commentator saying how great the heel was when it was obvious to everyone with a brain that it was pure, dumb luck that it happened that way. Problem was Saxton wasn't able to formulate a relevant response to that to defend the babyface and point out how inane JBL's statement was.

I went into the match fully knowing Ambrose would lose. I left thinking it was one of the best matches so far this year.
You knew it would be over soon after Cole started yelling that Ambrose had already won but that was important. Short of a win, they put him over as best they could.

Another thing I've realized is that in most Ambrose/Cole interviews since like around November for the WWE Title tourney, they have Ambrose saying he's extremely well-rounded and extremely great. He didn't do it that much until that point. Once the Triple H stuff came into play Ambrose started saying that he's better than Triple H. Last night's match showed us that he was better than Triple H in every area. Submissions, brawling, power moves, speed, resilience, energy, just overall better in every way which was Ambrose's point. Ambrose did something he rarely does: he came in with a game plan and he proved he was better than The Game and this wasn't just in the match but it was Ambrose getting the match in the first place. Like he said in his last Cole interview, he's not an idiot, he went out there and got the match because he knew it would work, Trips fell in his plan. Trips was even cheating and Ambrose got past that. However, where Ambrose slipped up is when he didn't get the win after the 3 count and he instantly went back into Lunatic Fringe "screw a plan I'm going to destroy this guy" mode. He abandoned it and considering he did, it allowed him to make a slight mistake and Trips, the veteran, hit the Pedigree just right barely pulled out the victory.
They basically said that if Ambrose sticks to a plan overall he's greater than Triple H, a guy who was beating Austin, Rock, Lesnar and many others. That's insane praise.
It's similar to Cena/Rock during WM28 in that if Cena stuck to his plan and didn't want to show off he would have beaten Rock. He slipped up.
