Man, that sucks to hear. Just when she'd found her groove as a performer too.
Wonder what kind of strain that puts on Cena, if it might lead him to consider further cutting back or whatever. Either way gotta be some drama in the extended Bella family right now with two members of it retiring and a third potentially having to.
Either way a good show that instead of having her work tag matches hurt for months on end just to pettily break AJ's record, she should've just dropped the belt and taken time off sooner for her own good. Hopefully others in similar positions learn from that.

They should have stopped her as soon as word came that she was hurt. Not after the record was broken, the day of her diagnosis, if not before. It takes her "accomplishment" and turns it into "they subtly pressured her into working hurt until she broke".

Sucks to hear.
But the bizarreness of the Eva Marie return and the reaction of the divas she helped was more intriguing.

Chain of karma: -They fire Punk on his wedding day -Punk gets one over on them with the Pipecast -They job out AJ in 33 seconds next week, and then they sue him by proxy -They lose one of their top divas in the crossfire -They respond by giving her record to a shit diva in the worst major reign since Cena's 13 month long one. -Because they dragged it out with someone working hurt, she's forced to retire as well.
End result: Their constant attempts to be a dickcheese to Punk and AJ lead to them losing 2 of their top divas.

Nikki was one of the best on the main roster for in-ring work before she went down, and her heel work was pretty decent too. Sure, it took her a while to find her groove, but once she did, she embraced it fully.

Wow, so the Bellas are done. First Brie leaving after WM32, and now this. Several years ago I would not care about this. At all. They came across as awful and annoying and seemed to be shoved down our throats whether we liked them or not. But Brie basically being revealed to be an awesome person thanks to the Daniel Bryan connection (and Nikki not being a bad person either) makes me feel bad. Holy crap thank you for existing to show us that, Total Divas.

I honestly don't think her working through 4 matches hurt has changed the outcome here.

That sucks. Nikki got really good as time went on. At least she got to shine for a year before this happened.

Awful news. In the end, no mortal could take down the Lioness, only injury. She was, no joke on nothing, one of my favorite divas of this generation.

I'm more upset about this than Bryan's retirement. At least with that one, the writing was on the wall for a while.

The thing forgotten about this whole injury crisis is just how many of them have been literal career-enders. Bryan, Kidd, Sting, Nikki... That's four in less than a year. I don't ever recall there being so many in such a short time in WWE before.

If there is one silver lining to this, Nikki is able to walk away (quite literally).
She's getting out before her quality of life will be seriously affected, so that's a plus.

She was starting to get better, and probably only would have continued to do so working with the NXT call-ups. Definitely respect anyone willing to put in the effort to improve.
I'll never miss having the Bellas on TV though, in terms of their on air personalities.

I do feel bad for Nikki, she was coming into her own as a performer. I didn't think she could talk for shit but she was a good worker and maybe one of the most improved workers I've seen in WWE History, her and Alicia Fox both went from absolute shit to workhorses for that division when it started actually taking itself seriously.
She reminded me of Trish Stratus in that regard, Trish was not a good worker when she first started, and she turned into one of the best Womens Wrestlers period by the end. Nikki was really getting to that point. It's such a shame.
She should have never kept The Rack Attack after injury either, who the hell told her it was still mandatory to do that move with a F***ed up neck??
I hope this shows WWE that pettiness in breaking a record will cost them a lot more than it will ever gain their ego. Don't push your wrestlers to work when they're hurting. You completely go back on what you did for Daniel Bryan when shit like this comes out, and it makes you look like SCUMBAGS. So F***ing don't do it... it cost you another wrestler in the prime of their career...

Well, it isn't technically, but I'd be very surprised if he came back. The vast majority of people who get his particular injury either die or end up in a wheelchair, and he somehow avoided both. If I were in his shoes I'd be retiring to my Japan tapes, my cats and my sex with Nattie.
