It certainly is a huge shame. I can't say I was ever really a fan (I'm team Brie MooOooOooDe) but you could tell she loved what she did in the end and she definitely put the work and effort in to improve as much as she did.
It'll be interesting to see what happens with Total Divas considering they're about to lose the two main stars, both on screen and in the mainstream.

It's a damn shame that both Bellas are preparing for retirement just when they both were really hitting their stride and even managed to turn me into a fan. Hopefully her injuries won't cause her any long lasting pain.

You know I never really enjoyed anything she did, but it's sad to see her career end like this especially given it was obvious she was working hard to get better. All the MISAWA YAASSS QUEEN SLAYY nonsense was incredibly aggrivating as a lot of people posting it hoped it'd be, but Nikki as a person or performer doesn't really deserve any of the heat for it.

Chain of karma: -They fire Punk on his wedding day -Punk gets one over on them with the Pipecast -They job out AJ in 33 seconds next week, and then they sue him by proxy -They lose one of their top divas in the crossfire -They respond by giving her record to a shit diva in the worst major reign since Cena's 13 month long one. -Because they dragged it out with someone working hurt, she's forced to retire as well. End result: Their constant attempts to be a dickcheese to Punk and AJ lead to them losing 2 of their top divas. I take umbrage with this part. Nikki was one of the best on the main roster for in-ring work before she went down, and her heel work was pretty decent too. Sure, it took her a while to find her groove, but once she did, she embraced it fully. This is so weird to hear someone agree with me that Nikki was one of the best in-ring diva workers. I love you.

I honestly don't think her working through 4 matches hurt has changed the outcome here. 4 matches hurt where she has to perform her finishing move which aggravates the hurt part of the body could have made a big difference. I'm sure she'll be fine post wwe, total divas will open some doors for her.

No need for another referendum on AJ. This sucks. I like Nikki a good bit. And it healthy, she still could've been a valuable part of the division. Yup, half this forum celebrated obnoxiously when AJ retired, someone resurrected her retirement thread to re-celebrate 9 months later and got 10-plus likes, that's just as obsessive, cold and unnecessary the people trashing Nikki in this thread. And a lot of the people crying foul about people's dickish comments in this thread were the ones rejoicing and being antagonistic when AJ packed it in. There is literally no difference between how either woman is treated so arguing over who has the worst fandom or acting like one is an infallible goddess while the other is a persecuted punching bag is redundant. Both Nikki and AJ were among the most hated wrestlers in the history of the internet, just by different people, neither woman is any more an 'internet darling' than the other, despite what some would have you believe and this forum is all the proof one needs of that. Yet a lot of people treat their disdain for both as some sort of righteous crusade, it's weird as hell. Now they're both retired before their time, perhaps for good, and people are still bickering about who was better and moaning about their 'obsessed' fans. Can we finally stop and just agree that people retiring young from what they love for reasons out of their control is sad as f***?

I am largely indifferent to Nikki, since I think she improved a lot as a wrestler, and her "and I never told anyone" vignettes when she turned heel were hilarious, but her reign suuuuuuuuuuucked. A lot of that wasn't on her, due to WWE stretching it past its breaking point out of spite, but giving her very little of interest to do with it. Their failure to commit to whether the Bellas were heel or not ended up leaving most of her feuds muddled and lackluster.
Given WWE's failure to book Rollins particularly well as a champion for a long reign, I am willing to give her the benefit of the doubt to a bigger degree than I would otherwise. She was an alright wrestler, outside of having a wicked elbow and some other strengths, but regardless of how much or little I like her, an injury like this is a raw hand, and I am not pleased to hear the prognosis isn't great. That has to be immensely frustrating for her, as well as her family, and it's not something I'd wish on most people.

Haven't the Bellas been in the wwe ring longer than most wrestling woman? I'm not really shocked by this.
