Because you are doing it wrong. If you would watch the show live AND follow the Thread you would have a blast. Sometimes I wish for a special bad raw so that the Thread on this board will be even better Last nights HOF Ceremony was one of the best in recent years in comedic value in my opinion.

This year's show was fun, which is hard to say most years. At least it was funny to see an unrecognizable Jimmy Garvin boogie like the old days and PS Hayes screech "BADSTREEEEET ATLANTA GA" in a karaoke segment while giving a shoutout to Sheiky Baby. And Drunk Naitch showed up and publicly embarrased Charlotte, but that's just another Saturday night.
Most of the boredom comes from how long many speeches are, but many of the inductees kept it concise this year. Thankfully many of the fans kept it civil and respectful, especially during Joan Lunden (who herself was very respectful).
I only hope next year follows this year's lead by not taking itself so seriously. It was certainly more entertaining than years prior.

I enjoyed being there live last year, yeah it was a long show. But I was the front row behind the security ropes where everyone sits. So it was great to be so up close to everything going on. It helped that legends would come up and talk to us.
I can understand why when its not live how it is a bit of a chore to sit through. I didn't make it through the entire show last night, I called it quits just after Hayes at about 1am when I was starting to drift off and wanted to catch more of Mercury Rising. There are really good speeches over the years and they are worthy watches, just sometimes you need to find the good placed within the mundane stuff. HBKs and Austins speeches are both great to me.

As someone who has attended the last three wrestlemaina weekends, i promise you the hall of fame is perfect on that saturday for a chill out night.. Most people get in thursday night go party hard around town, then your amped going to either NXT or ROH, by saturday your pretty tired and need a power down night if you want to so you have lots of energy for Maina on Sunday and the RAW on monday if you stay in town for it.. Hall of fame is a perfect break in between.
I also enjoyed this year because of the personalities involved.

Man, I could listen to Stan Hansen talk about wrestling all day, so that alone was good for me.

Any HOF that doesn't have Lita droning on for decades about every single moment in her life is an improvement to me.

Due to bad weather, I couldn't watch all of the ceremony, but I still posted and read in the thread, and enjoyed it through here

I thought the HOF had way too many talking segments. Did they even HAVE a match? =P

The Hall of Fame is my favorite wrestling event of the year. I wasn't too thrilled about most of this year's class but thought the show was tremendous overall.

I used to think this, but the last few Hall of Fame ceremonies have been pretty entertaining. The Bushwackers alone made last year's ceremony fun as hell to watch.

I would never watch it live. Just wait till the next day, see what people say here, and check bits out. I heard about the Sting speech, so I just watched that and enjoyed it. I have no intention of watching the whole ceremony though I agree with that, just because of all of the filler and the thing is over 3 hours. But I used to hate how they cut it to bits when they showed it on USA. I haven't got through the whole thing(stopped at the Freebirds last night), but I loved their part and I could probably listen to Stan Hansen talk forever.

I like some of it. Sure, it goes long, but I like hearing some of the old wrestling stories. So I enjoyed the Freebirds and Sting's inductions. Godfather's and Big Bossman's were interesting too.

Snoop giving Sasha props and getting a little emotional was the highlight for me

I heavily skimmed it, but I enjoyed both Stan Hansen and Snoop's speeches.
Hansen's speech, though somewhat long, did well to cover his entire career. He was humble, gave WWE props for the honor, but didn't shy away from his non-WWE canon stuff (shouting out Brody, Jumbo, Misawa, Kobashi, etc). Backlund and Bruno seemed genuinely touched by their mentions in the speech as well. I think it served as a great template for what a hall of fame speech should be.
Snoop had the awareness about himself that though he was being honored, it was in response to how big a fan he is of the business, and how he has respects those that are in it. His shout out ton Sasha was very touching as well, as it actually represented how WWE has brought families closer together.
All the speeches were good, though those two stuck out for me. I do agree about Flair though. Flair is Flair, and we all know what we are getting when he comes around. However, he just comes off as such a self-mark sometimes that it's hard to stomach. I mean Flair-Steamboat were great matches, but it does not need to be shoehorned into everything. I don't forsee a future inductee that would absolutely need Flair to induct him (maybe Batista?), so maybe Flair saw this as his last chance to do his shtick at the HOF.

Snoop pleasantly suprised me.. his speech was really good and made me like sasha even more. If he comes out with her tonight it kinda would make sense because they seem really close
Hansen and stings speeches were the highlights for me.

I agree to an extent which is why I watched it this morning. I was able to hear from the people that I wanted to (Godfather, Hansen, Freebirds, Snoop and Sting) while skipping the stuff I didn't really care for. Make it a much more enjoyable show.
